I always lean towards Pharrell because i really liked that early 2000's Neptunes shyt. But then i always forget about that Aaliyah shyt, and the fact that he ghost produced a few tracks on that Show the Afterparty, the hotel Jodeci album. Plus he was a damn innovator.

Pharrell

But why are some posters in here posting songs produced by The Neptunes and not solo produced Pharrell songs when talking about Pharrell produced songs? lol

Chad deserves just as much credit as Pharrell whenever we talk about The Neptunes production; Chad and Pharrell are a production duo as The Neptunes

Now with that said and for the topic of this thread, Timbo vs Pharrell

Pharrell

I like his sound more

Has Tim ever even produced a full rap album? (since Missy did a lot of singing)

Even if you don't count Missy:

Timbaland & Magoo- Welcome To Our World
Timbaland & Magoo- Indecent Proposal
Timbaland & Magoo- Under Construction Pt. 2
Ms. Jade- Girl Interrupted (aside from three songs and ironically one of them is produced by The Neptunes)
LL Cool J- The Definition (produced over 50% of this album)

Y’all be leaving Chad Hugo out of these Pharrell discussions which is honestly a little odd to me.

Yes, Pharrell is a talented producer but so is Chad and they collaborated on a lot of classics together.

Even tho I agree with you, the reason chad gets left out is because pharrell went solo and still kept dropping #1s

Breh, we are not going to act like these aren't on Pharrell's resume us stacked with classic albums. There only exists Lord Willin and Hell Hath No Fury. I've never considered Hell Hath No Fury as a classic album. Don't get me wrong, its dooe, but classic is a stretch.

And if we're talking overall, Timbaland has produced far more classic albums than The Neptunes.

That's still overrating him though. Pharrell as a solo producer shouldn't be mentioned with Timbaland. Pick a year between 1996-2006 alone and Timbaland washes Pharrell.

This isn't a good argument to make because we don't know for sure what beats Chad wasn't involved in with Pharrell

I prefer the Neptunes overall though

Tim got R&B though..

I also wanted to drop this in here because Joe Budden talked about how Pharrell's an alien while downplaying Tim. In fact the whole Everday Struggle crew did. That let me know then that Tim is a bit underrated in some respects.

Anyway, Timbaland has been an alien since 1996. When The Neptunes were still finding their sound, Timbaland was out here producing Aaliyah's One In A Million and Ginuwine's The Bachelor. "Pony" and "One In A Million" alone sounded like they were from another planet. And quiet as kept, Timbaland and The Neptunes borrowed from each other, but the track below might've birthed The Neptunes whole style:

Timbaland is the better producer hands down though
