bruh a 780 TI a month or two away from the 880 GTX will be dropping and will (hopefully.. should be.. at least, going off of previous history of every generation but this mining for coins got me ) more powerful + a lot less expensive ?

And as far as more powerful...i mean...you only need as much power as the gaming experience that you want to have...you only need a gpu as powerful as the games you are going to play and the resolution you are going to play it at...there is only so much you can future proof before it becomes a waste of money...I want to game at as close to 4k as possible getting more than 60 fps...so i needed a pretty monstrous rig for that...but for those who don't...yeah my rig would be complete overkill and a waste of money...

Nvidia is a funny company though because IMO they smooth just played people with the Titan card...it was never meant to be a gaming gpu...it was made for high computational and rendering shyt...the enthusiast group just went out and bought it cause it was the most powerful thing on the market...

And everyone else says "that price is ridiculous I won't pay 1000 for a card"

Then they come back and drop a gtx 780...same architecture as a Titan...around 80% as powerful as a Titan...easily able to be overclocked to match the performance of a titan...runs quite a bit cooler than a titan...

Then you price it around the 700 range...

Then you get people to say "wait i can get a card for 700 and OC it to perform like a 1000 dollar card! Oh man that is great!"

Well played nvidia...700 seems like a deal when you somehow trick people into comparing it to a 1000

and I said "As possible"...some games look better at 2560 X 1600 than at 4k resolutions

due to my job i was able to get mine a little bit cheaper than that price...but not much

Looking at the reviews...I did run into the app change properties in 8.1...but I have not ran into an issues with the "acting as two screens" when using the monitor at 60hz...i used the display port from the jump...

the six pin goes to your gpu

there should be two 4 pins bundled together (so it can also accommodate 8 pin). looking something like this:

here's the connections newegg says your psu should have:

1 x 20+4pin Main connector
1 x EPS/ATX 12V 4+4pin connector
6 x SATA
1 x 6+2pin PCI-E
1 x 6pin PCI-E
4 x Peripheral
1 x FDD

my experience with that card is it doesn't overclock well. it's already "superclocked", and doesn't seem to have much room to go further. your card might be better (see 'silicone lottery'), but I don't think it should be a priority

aside from the On Screen Display, what I use EVGA Precision for is adjusting my 'fan curve'. basically the card comes set up to run the fan at certain speeds at certain temps (faster as the card gets hotter). but I found the default settings not quite as aggressive as I like (the card was getting too hot for my liking). the drawback to that is the fans get louder the faster they go, but I prefer the piece of mind of not seeing the card go above 80c (I've also heard that the card starts to throttle at that temp, but I'm not sure about that).

in general EVGA Precision has some good tools for seeing various info about your card, and adjusting some things if you like

edit: you really don't need to worry about any of this stuff at first
