Conflict of interest. Drake dropped this year...Next year he will drop.

Jay should have kept quiet too but trust him to want to drop the same period as Cole/Ye and right before Drake/Em...Something is fishy about how this album droppedoutta nowhere as did JT & Yonce #newrules indeed

People said that before c4 was released and there was a legendary series of plea copping.

He's not as popular as he once was but he's had a run that we don't see often in hip hop. His first album came out in 1999, who dropped that year that's still relevant? Aside From jay and Eminem?
people even said the same about jay & em becoming irrelevant. People need to stop underestimating established fanbase, they should've learned from Jeezy Vs Rick Ross.

Using the actual tangible real life metrics of success, dude had a more successful 2013 than just about every rapper not named Eminem, Macklemore (assuming you count him, i personally don't...Em neither keeping it funky lol), Jay or Drake...IANAHB2 did Born Sinner/Yeezus numbers, but spawned more and bigger hits (Love Me is double-plat, No Worries went platinum, Rich As Fukk went platinum), had more billboard placements this year than anybody in all of music not named Drake, and headlined a domestic and euro large venue tour...50 is somebody i would say has no buzz, Wayne's just not "trendy or cool to be a fan of" anymore...he's on the declining side of his hype bell curve, but still one of the biggest rappers in the game with an actual dedicated fanbase that's gonna continue being wildly successful for the foreseeable future

It's kind of the same thing with TI, where people act like he's over or something because he's a known entity that's not getting all the trendy of the day dikkriding conversations anymore...but in reality he just had a successful album and was one of the biggest hits of the year

lil wayne was ontop during the weakest era in hip hop
He been on top since 07, if the era was so weak why wasnt Jay, Nas, 50, etc on top during it moving units like him?

WAYNE was the guy out here getting rappers release dates when they couldnt get it on there own.

:ehh:

His last album went number one did decent overall and got a grammy nom.

Who else though? DMX? Lauryn hill?

It's very hard to stay relevant for long in hip hop. If you're LUCKY you get a few hot years and that's it. Look at guys like Luda and Nelly who were running shyt ten years ago.

Don't count the nikka out just yet:patrice: He's still a hitmaker and being out the spotlight will make fans hungry for his music. When he gets that monter push for his next album,a focused rejuvinated weezy gonna make noise brehs.
