They're not dead languages. My point is that they're still spoken by millions of people in this country twism said otherwise. Not everyone assimilated to speak English. Read twisms argument again maybe. More European immigrants would've probably held onto their European languages as well if they weren't the enemy during the World Wars and trying to move past it and or work around Protestant supremacy. Immigration largely shifted away from Europeans 80+ years ago so it also explains the decline in their use.

As far as the 19th century goes do you even realize what the population size was and that the majority were English speakers to begin with?

I watched the vid so I don’t need any help. Brokaw has every right to feel that way. He’s a white man. What, whites are supposed to stop being white because of your sensitivity? Because of history? You think they’re supposed to just give away the land they conquered because we feel it’s the “right” thing for them to do? Ok.

Let you in on a secret: I don’t want mixed grandbabies either. I, too, believe that interrmarriage is a problem. And I agree with the English part as well. I’m in Texas, and I see how they’re using the bilingual bit against Black people when it comes to city, county and state hiring. It’s also starting to spill over into the private sector.

The problem, as the late Dr Clarke said, is that we’ve been so long under the control of others that we’ve completely lost the knowledge of how to govern a nation.

If this was a Black run nation you would expect those who immigrated here to assimilate to a certain degree, but at the very least learn the common language.
