:mjlol:DOING WHAT MOVES?
SOMETHING YOU MADE UP
AND NEVER PERSONALLY SAW THEM DO?

:mjlol:WHEN HAS ISAIAH JACKSON
AND JAMES WISEMAN PLAYED
LIKE KAT?

I’m not talking about them. I think play styles play a part but are not the close to the only factor.

Look at Ewing/Oakley, Mourning/LJ, Dream/Thorpe...these were barrel chested, broad shouldered front court tandems when teams prioritized paint presence and rim protection.

Check out the sizes of 5's and 4's 30 years ago.

This "bigger, stronger" shyt flies in the face of reality.

Difference between me and these resident Coli IT/Engineering and foreign nerds who never played ball is I can appreciate the game for what it was and what it currently is.

What i won't do is have somebody like @Gil Scott-Heroin or @Osmosis try and tell a nicca like me that the game was easier to play back then and the injuries suffered this postseason are a result of it being so much harder to play the game.
30 years ago most Players' heights were embellished.

Ewing was flabby and lol @ Thorpe and Oakley being "barrel chested".

Faster pace . Popularization of low cut shoes

You wouldn't even think of wearing lows when I played. Niccas would look at you like a fool.

We used to pick shoes out of the Eastbay magazine and the team would vote on which shoe we all wore. If somebody suggested a low shoe they would've been slapped... :skip:

I don't believe the science backs up the low shoes shyt.

Kids are playing school ball, have 4 unstructured AAU games on a day ,AND are training like pros from 13

THATS the problem. There isn’t any sort of cross training ..by the time they hit 18 they have big miles on them .

Youth sports need to be more centralized/regulated and NBA teams needs to handle youth development like they do in many sports across the world

Reducing the season by 10 games will do nothing when you have 6’6 220 pound men doing explosive side steps and step backs and have been constantly doing it since they were teenagers

This to me is one of the best solutions. NBA should be in control of the development process. Isn’t that the arrangement in European soccer? The ballclub does the development for the local talents. The NBA in conjunction with school districts should be at the lead of this. To me, AAU is way too for profit-ish for me to expect that they’d actually consider the well being of these kids over their profits.
