  • I'm kinda indifferent to Tariq.
  • Biased with Tone.
  • Completely against Yvette :mjlol:

But I'm watching now and I gotta say... Tone is on point here :ehh: Here in Dallas they got this "Grow South" initiative and anybody in the know, knows it's bullshyt. Dallas north of I-30/I-45 and Dallas south of it is like day and night.... It's an "Opportunity Zone" :ohhh: I've known that for the longest but I wasn't familiar with the federal policy or how to coin it aside from "gentrification".

Didn't read the article, but I believe in the opposite of your stance.
I think some of the rhetoric towards Black people of international background is easier to sell to people whose circles don't intersect with theirs. Black individuals in academic, professional, social / neighborhood spaces are more likely to have contact with Blacks of different backgrounds as PEERS, than those who don't.

Person with less neutral contact with members of another group might be more inclined to beleive that "they are all this way"

Claiming and being proud of cultural heritage is natural. Some other things are being attached to that by youtubers..(the fearmongering, the lies). The likelihood to believe negative things about other groups might be an easy sell for individuals who aren't where they want to be in life. Gives them a scapegoat.

I feel you. My longer reply got mostly erased when my page refreshed so I’ll say this.

Being from Houston I’ve always been around non ADOS brothers and sisters so idk what it’s like for those that didn’t grow up like that. I’ll definitely be looking to see if what you say holds true.

I’m not letting folks off of the hook though because your logic works both ways. If folks haven’t lived or worked in a neglected ADOS community then it’s hard to see them truly as PEERS. If all you’ve seen is through the lenses of the internet or tv than it’s easy to dehumanize ADOS folks just like non blacks do.

If you’ve never seen first hand just how bad it is for many ADOS children and just how little of a chance of success they have in comparison as others than it’s easy for someone to sit their privileged ass on a computer and type that ADOS supporters must just be some broke ass losers mad at the world. And again being from Houston I know for a fact that many non ADOS brothers and sisters understand that struggle more than some ADOS folks.

I was literally talking to one of my aunts who’s a retired elementary teacher when I typed the post you responded to. She still decided to sub even though she retired because she wants to help. Many ADOS AND non ADOS folks just want to help. The likelihood to believe negative things about ADOS might be an easier sell for individuals who have already dehumanized black Americans. Gives them peace of mind.

The problem is Black people who believe all Black people must be the same way, speak the same, dress the same, talk the same etc.
Individualism And uniqueness is now frowned upon among Ados. You see it even in music where if you're not some trap rapper strung out on drugs you're an anomaly..
It's crab in the barrel thinking, because these same Blacks whom are anti Black immigrant don't even notice European, Asian, middle eastern immigrants.

Interesting Tone wanted Tariq to speak at the conference. I feel like Jason has more so warmed up to Yvette/Tone than Tariq has. TBA actually parrots a lot of their talking points and gives credit. He applauded them for getting a presidential candidate to specifically address black Americans. TBA and Breaking Brown link up would be dope. Tone, Yvette’s political acumen plus Jason’s vocabulary could crush buildings

The Latest: Trump aims to pit black voters vs. immigrants
November 8, 2019, 11:25 PM GMT+2
ATLANTA (AP) -- The Latest on President Donald Trump's outreach to black voters (all times local):

4:15 p.m.

President Donald Trump is trying to pit the black community against immigrants, saying Democrats care more for people who have come to the U.S. illegally than African Americans.

Trump says public benefits should be protected for American citizens and says today's Democratic Party has no idea how to help black Americans.

Trump is trying to generate black support during a campaign event in Atlanta to launch a black voters coalition.

Trump is turning several of his hot-button issues into a play for black support.

For example, he says Democrats would rather not pass a proposed trade agreement with Canada and Mexico because Democrats "would rather hurt their political opponents than help their black constituents."

__

3:50 p.m.

President Donald Trump is trying to appeal to African American voters by citing crime problems in the nation's major cities, saying the vast majority of the nation's most dangerous cities are run by Democrats.

Trump is speaking to black voters in Atlanta as his campaign begins a "Black Voices for Trump" coalition.

Trump says that for decades, "Democrats have taken African American voters totally for granted."

He says of the support blacks have traditionally given the Democratic Party, "it's amazing that you've stayed so long, to be honest."

Trump says that under his presidency, wages are rising for blacks and that they're rising the fastest for the lowest-income workers.

__

3:40 p.m.

Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson is encouraging black voters in Georgia to get out and talk to their family and friends in support of President Donald Trump, saying he helped get criminal justice reform passed.

Carson is speaking at a "Black Voices for Trump" rally in Atlanta as the Trump campaign tries to ramp up support from a traditionally skeptical audience when it comes to the Republican Party.

Carson says Trump doesn't believe in identify politics and that if he's a racist, "he's an awfully bad one."

A few hundred black supporters are attending the event. Vice President Mike Pence is telling the crowd that Republicans, from Abraham Lincoln to Dwight Eisenhower, have a history of looking out for African Americans.

__

1:45 p.m.

During the 2016 campaign, candidate Donald Trump stood in front of largely white crowds and asked black voters to consider, "What the hell do you have to lose?"

Four years later, the president has a new message for black voters: Look what I've delivered.

Trump and his campaign will be launching a new "Black Voices for Trump" outreach initiative in Atlanta on Friday dedicated to "recruiting and activating Black Americans in support of President Trump," according to the campaign.

Much of that effort will focus on highlighting ways that African Americans have benefited from the Trump economy, according to advisers.

Mainstream Democrats almost never make concrete plans to give anything tangible and significant specifically to Black people (not "People of Color"). And no, prison reform doesn't count. We're not all convicts :comeon:

That's the point he is trying to make, and which no one has been able to disprove.

Showing how emotional black people get to defend people who don't even want to do shyt to specifically help you.
We are not all anything.

unless you want them to write a “give money to black people” law :mjlol:

And even then, there would be confusion over who qualifies as “black” or not :francis:

I wouldn’t go that far. I’ll give Tariq the benefit of the doubt in that he got a little too excited when Trump tweeted that bullshyt. He prob thought Trump was for serious about them tangibles and led w/ emotion opposed to logic. I’m sure he regrets it cause there’s a larger gap between that tweet and everything else he’s tweeted today/yesterday
