Hurts’ threat of running deserves some credit for Saquon’s success but….what does that have to do with how good Hurts is as a QB. Is Anthony Richardson any less garbage as a QB bc he opens up run lanes?
The offense is built entirely around Jalen and his strengths :
- being one of the most efficient runners in the league
- being one of the most efficient deep ball throwers in the league
- being one of the most efficient in completion %
- being unstoppable in any short yardage situation
Jalen's not perfect, he struggles to see over the line which leads to certain games (like vs Carolina last year) where he's not in rhythm, not seeing not trusting it and holds onto the ball bailing clean pockets. But even on days like that his strengths (generate big plays/protect the ball) do enough to win. This is why the Eagles have done nothing but win at a historic clip since they made the decision to build their entire operation around him. He's quite literally the straw that stirs the drink.

That’s a fantastic argument for anyone who says Hurts isn’t good. I’m not saying that. I’m saying his place on this list is more or less accurate
I’d for sure have him ahead of Stafford and Herbert. So I’d have him at 7, but wouldn’t argue 6. What’s the problem?!
And no, he is NOT the ‘straw who stirs the drink’. Most high end QBs would have historic numbers with that supporting cast. Philly modifies the offense to his strengths. And that isn’t necessarily a complement

Jackson career regular season QB rating 102, playoffs 84.6.
Burrow career regular season QB rating 101.2, playoffs 93.8.
They are close but Burrow has a better record and rating in the playoffs. And their regular season stats are close.
