They were 2 great songs (and then a hook on "The Watcher") but I doubt Eminem being on 3 songs had a huge impact on the sales

the hype for Em after coming off SSLP, he was really starting to blow around then. MMLP sold 1.7 million or something FIRST WEEK! Dre's fans combined with Em fans combined with the fact that Snoop was on the album, cats had been waiting for that for a long time and all they really had was bytch Please. this was Dre coming back from Death Row, from the lackluster Aftermath compilation, Still DRE had cats going crazy.

no way that's AEOM sales are correct.
It was certified 9x platinum (4.5 mill if we going by soundscan's system) in 1998.
It was released Feb 13 96.
Certified 5x plat on april 25 96.
7x plat in sep 96.

Soundscan is based on sales to customers tho not shipments to retailers, whereas platinum means shipments to retailers. With AEOM being 9x platinum that means 4.5 million (double) albums were shipped to stores. Maybe only 4.4 million (double) albums were bought.

For example nelly "brass knuckles" went gold but only actually sold 225k
