Finished watchin' Mook vs. Lux. Mook got this 2-1 or 3-0, depends on how you rate Lux first. Second and third, clearly Mook.

Lux could've used so many angles, but instead he kept on rambling, barely spittin' a punch, half preachin', all those words and a whole lot of nothing.

Mook on the other hand wasn't sayin' anything spectacular, but he went in. He wanted Lux's head and got it, clean cut. Mook returned in style.

He wasn't rambling in the second, his shyt was cold. It just could've been applied to anyone

As I said, Lux was trying to prove he's more lyrical than Mook instead of trying to out battle him. Lux is more lyrical than everyone, means nothing. Mook broke him down to pieces. That third was life altering for Lux

I was talking in general, not specific rounds. And I agree, Mook's third was embarrasing for Lux. Mook was even able to brush off that coat situation. Lux lost the crowd, Mook was winning it with each round.

I only saw the battle once, so this is the impression I got from the Lux-Mook battle.

This is probably annoying, but I say this repeatedly on this board. If you 2 battle rappers in the same lane, someone is gonna clearly be better at it, which will result in a clear win as opposed to a preference battle.

As a result, you can have a terrific battle rapper take a very bad loss. Unfortunately, a lot of people fail to realize this. Anyone can take a clear loss if they run into the wrong style.

I think Lux is a much better rapper than Mook. He's more entertaining to watch. Even with this loss, I still believe more people would rather watch Lux. He ran into a bad stylistic matchup at this point in his career.

At this point in time, both Mook & Lux are in the same lane. Same approach which is "trying to break down their opponent." That is Mook's best attribute as a battle rapper. That shyt is not gonna work on Mook. Just as Mook knows trying to go bar for bar with Lux is not gonna work, which he he said in that post interview with rex & serius.

I think Mook is one of the most boring rappers ever. I've felt this way since the dvd era. He does nothing for me as a rapper, but I'm objective enough to realize that he's highly effective at what he does. He knows how to win. It's not gonna necessarily be pretty, but it gets the job done. I'm honestly not even sure people will actually be in a rush to see a Mook battle just because he got this win unless it's the right match up. This was still boring Mook as far as I'm concerned.

As I said before, if Mook was coaching a basketball team, his team would slow the pace down, run down the shot clock, & make it a low scoring game. I think he's absolutely awful to watch & you gotta be from NY/Eastcoast to really feel him.

Problem was Mook's whole angle was "You can't talk to me because I know the real you"

Lux had to outbar Mook to win, period. Lost nikka exposing and storytelling wasn't going to work with what Mook had in his bag.

This nikka started swagging and talking about his haircut :why:

Lux is big on showmanship. I was surprised he didn't really have more to his show to give the fans that full experience, but that could have been the platform they were on. Perhaps there were some limitations there

Im sorry but Mook just isn't that nice to me.... He is good for a couple bars here and there but there is NO way that I would look forward to a Mook vs * anyone. He just doesn't do it for me battle rap wise. He has this bravado like he is saying some world changing shyt and it just sounds good. I can't really rock with him. I am not knocking anyone else that feels his lyrics and style. This is just my opinion.

totally different subject

Arsonal actually is the only dude from that total slaughter event that had true crowd control and that is something that hurt every other battler. He basically had the crowd waiting on every word. Total Slaughter needs him for their next pay per view.

Crowd was rocking heavy with mook too bro. Watch the end after sway cuts him off, mook puts his hands up for the crowd to make some noise and that's the loudest we got during the whole show

You're right tho, arsonal was working the crowd real nice too. Second only to mook. Nobody else was even close

I don't get why people say he was preaching, he wasn't preaching at all lol. He was spitting regular bars.

Lux breaks nyggas down. That's what he does at this point of his career & I dont see that changing anytime soon. I will never understand the criticism when you have these other nyggas do the exact same approach every single time. Clips is gonna be Clips. Goodz is gonna be Goodz, etc. All those nyggas do the same shyt, but we NEVER hear that these nyggas should change anything. But when it comes to Lux, he has to change his approach. What emcee has rapped exactly the way they did nearly 10 years ago? Perhaps it's because he's held to a certain standard.

When Swave attempts to break his opponents down, is he preaching?

When Math broke that nygga Dizaster down in his 3rd, was he preaching?

Lux breaks nyggas down. I think because he raps in such a condescending tone, people perceive it as preaching. He should feel he's better than a nygga in front of him that's what battling is about

Tdot.. till the death of me
I had lux winning round one easily. and I had mook winning rounds 2 and 3.

I still think Lux is better then mook tho, and I still feel like Lux is the best battle rapper period. I guess im just a fan of his style. his lines are intriguing to me and i appreciate the abstractness of his metaphors. Its like you got all these rappers punching one way...and then you got lux showing you another way to punch. You never really know when hes about to punch, his setups are punches in themselves.

I just feel his style started sounding a lil too redundant by rounds 2 and 3. and I like lux's style. But it would of been better to see him mix it up a lil bit. Im not really sure if Mook really had a big hand in beating lux tbh. I think Lux just didnt keep his rounds interesting enough this time around. :yeshrug:

hopefully he'll take some time off and see where he went wrong. It just sucks because to take the L and let mook be "the king of harlem" when you know your actually more skilled then he is :wow:
