I'm pretty sure early on in his career (Toronto) .. when he didn't have to go out and drop 40+ every night in order for his team to win .. he was the teams defensive stopper on the wing. Remember that? Or are you too young? (No shot at you .. you really might be too young to remember .. I dont know.)

:pachaha:

davis/oakley had more influence on what was a shyt defense in tmacs last season as raptor. tmac barely played enough mins in his first two out of three seasons to be in the defensive stopper conversation for them. and stop it with the 40+ a night shyt too, like it was a regular occurrence for him.... he avg 7, 9, 15 in his three seasons in toronto.

:pachaha:

Better player? TMac.

Better career? Wade.

Is that better?

Lets put it this way. .. nothing that Wade has ever done AS A PLAYER in his career would make me think that he's a better PLAYER than TMac. Now, if you wanna compare accomplishments ... then there's really no argument there.

better player and better career are a part of each other when we talking about who's seen as the better player....

:snoop: This argument comes down to preference, but if i had the chance to start a franchise and could pick a prime t-mac or prime wade im taking the 3rd best 2 guard of all time

as i said davis and oakley had more influence on the defence than tmac did.... and funnily enough the raptors defence was better when tmac left.... when davis/oakley were still there...

:youngsabo:

find me someone at the position who averaged more :jawalrus:

we still didn't discuss those turnovers either :mjpls:

i know you aint just tryna suggest tmac's defense is on wade's level..

:comeon:

tmac avg 2.5to throughout 9 bulk years at magic/rockets

wade avg 3.5to throughout 9 bulk years at heat

:ohhh::ohhh::ohhh::ohhh:

wade averaged one more turnover a game... i can certainly see why that makes tmac a better player.....

Naw just pointing out he was a beast when he put effort in

they're both inconsistent tho...

tmac gets abused through screens an reaches too much

wade would rather argue with the ref than get back on d and falls asleep on shooters too often

with that said wade is the more consistent defender tho i'll give you that :lolbron:

TMacs been in the league 15 years .. Wade? 9. (I think this is #10 )

It takes a toll on your body bruh.

you right but i don't see how that contradicts my point. some players can't compete due to lack of talent. others because of health. fact is two players almost the same age but completely difference levels currently.

wade is touted as the best shot blocking guard of all time. he's a pest in the passing lanes and a lock down defender. not to mention for his size he pulls down alot of defensive boards.

Tmac-0 Wade 1

Tmac as scorer was better than wade in everyway except for slashing and drawing fouls. that being said both guys are lethal on offense but if wade had Tmac touch from deep or midrange he'd still be the # 1 option on the heat.

Tmac- 1 Wade 1

Career wise. Wade has had as much success as you can have. championships mvps scorering titles, all stars all d ect. Tmac has some accolades but overall his career was disappointing. not his fault it was the injuries but still thats the way its goes.

Tmac- 1 Wade- 2

Current status. since both players are virtually the same age i consider their current level of play relevant. Right now dwade is a reigning champion/allstar and putting up stellar numbers. widely considered the top 1 or 2 at his position. Tmac is currently overseas because he is no longer good enough to make nba teams.

Tmac 1 Wade 3

Tmac had his chance to shine on numerous occasions and couldn’t get it done. He basically sparked the Pistons run in the early 2000s when his dumb ass thought it was over in the 2003 1st Rd of the playoffs when the Magic went up 2-0 on them.

His stupid ass was like “Wow, it really feels good to be out of the 1st rd” at the post game press conference.

Funny thing about that is I think that was the first year the NBA went from best of five to best of 7 first round. Went up 3-1, T-Mac was just a year too late, lol.

Tayshaun Prince getting more playing time and slowing down T-Mac played a huge role in that comeback too.

Wade. Better defender, stronger finisher, tougher competitor, quicker, faster. Only things prime T-Mac could do better was post-up, shoot 3's, dunk, and rebound, but he was nice as hell too.

why is tmac so overrated on this website?

:wtf:

Have you been reading the replies ?!?!? How is he being overrated. Other than myself, there might be one ... maaaaaybe two dudes that agree with me.

I do think Wade is the better defender because he's done it a bit longer and dedicated himself to it. TMac could defend too if he wasn't so fukking lazy. Thats a fact. I'm not sure Wade's a stronger finisher. That dont by any means mean that he's weak .. I just seen TMac YAM that bytch on dudes tryna slide over on help side. I'll give u the competitor (to Wade) .. Quicker too .. faster tho .. possibly. Post up game, 3 point shooting dunking and rebounding are pretty damn big parts of the game wouldnt u say? Also .. both these dudes see very few shots that they dont like .. but if i had to give the passing nod to someone .. it's be TMac also. He's bigger and could see the floor better.

I agree on pretty much everything. Stop saying they the same age tho. TMac is only a year younger than Kobe. Wade is three years younger.
