You know what would be great?

If there was some way to get to work quickly that avoids the soul crushing traffic of bumper to bumper cars.

Maybe they could build a big long case that carries a lot of people and goes to popular locations. They could fix it on rails and run it on electricity. So there would be fewer greenhouse gases and other polluting emissions and it would be a little better for the environment. And then with fewer cars on the road, the roads would suffer less wear. And that would save the public money on taxes and repair costs. And with fewer cars, the people that do need to drive would actually arrive faster because there would be less folks on the road.

What about that?

I think that could work.

Its all fun and games until it would also effect you in your everyday life. my friend who is an independent contractor charges a trip charge for all of his visits and people complain all the time. people want it to be one way until the plumbing man starts charging extra for traffic

On the other hand, my job has time codes for travel time lol. But only when its an business trip or irregular travel, not regular local commutes

Also i have heard of employers considering location when hiring...I bet if they brought it up in the interview nobody would complain then 😴

And millions of people lost their job during Covid. And they had to wait weeks or months to get unemployment and couldn’t pay their rent. Many of them got evicted. Companies went out of business permanently. So the time a lot of people got back was either spent in the hospital sick or at home stressing over trying to find a job that paid what they were making during the pandemic.

The majority of people who “realized” their worth were low wage workers that got more money in unemployment benefits than they were getting before the pandemic working. They didn’t want to come back earning less.

So your cubicle commute complaints are irrelevant to most people. There are still qualified applicants that have been out of work for over a year that will kill to be commuting to work for 45 minutes and stuck in a cubicle.

So again. If you don’t like it quit. bytching about it won’t change anything.

If all of these companies ditch the office, what do you think will happen to the space? What will happen to the surrounding property value? There won’t be any companies beating each other down to buy or lease it. Some of these companies have invested hundreds of millions of dollars in these properties and you think they will just get rid of it because a few people don’t like driving there to work :russ:

If you making $100,000 and up in IT or software development, I have no sympathy for you.
This some clown shyt for real. I hope you’re not in a position where you have people reporting to you.

Am I missing something or did the government not tell landlords they could not evict people while also giving people free money to stay home during Covid? I had to work throughout and paid my rent the whole time, so I’m not sure where you’re going with this.

I also really don’t understand your defending of corporate America either. This is a game of capitalism and the other side has been winning for way too long, so I’m happy the masses that could realized they have leverage and used it to get a bit of their lives back.

As for the people dying to be stuck in a cubicle all day as that would be a step up from their current working conditions, more power to them, but there’s nothing I can do about that.

Yeah understandable

Unfortunately you have a required onsite job.

If you staring at a computer screen all day then WFH should be ideal. Unless you military clearance or something

Employer point of view

:ehh: alright cool, we'll pay for travel. Parameters include living within "×" proximity to the reporting location as a condition of employment:ufdup:
We're living in the "no one wants to work:mjcry:" Era. These bytches wouldn't dare
