Because if you draft a WR with your most significant pick

It should be obvious you try to get him the ball...

He got 14 targets in the first 2 weeks. And did nothing with it .

I know this is hard to grasp, I know it is; but they get paid on the other side too. You not gon just ‘get him the ball’ your way to relevancy it does not work like that especiqlly when you ain’t ridiculously elite which he is not. He is not Randy moss, he is not Jamar chase he is not Nabors, he isnt even egbuka. All of which I tried to tell you months ago

It’s a shame media fooled people into thinking he was that type of prospect

Hes not even an elite of the elite athlete at this level either.

Rome Odunze is way bigger and is a smidge slower. If you gon be a smaller WR you either have to be a route running god or fast as shyt.

Not saying he wont be productive but top 5 WR or CB? I'm not seeing it but CB is way more likely.

He's playing evenly on both

He's just not being featured on offense.. They're doing exactly what they said.

He was never going to step in and be the number 1 receiver. They've talked about him having a lot more to learn on offense and that's why he started that way.

One of our corners got injured and he stepped up his count on that side a lot sooner than expected. But it was also said he could likely just step on the defensive side day one and be ok.

On offense he's still grasping the playbook and lining up wrong (we had to call a to because of it Sunday) but that's expected too.. It's been three games

You’d legitimately think you were talking about a college WR here :heh:

A WR not producing bc he don’t know the playbook is hilarious. Hunter renfrow was probably installing AC units a months ago and now he just had a 2 td game.

A lof of y’all don’t respect the craftsmanship of an NFL WR. That’s no something you develop part time. Or just skip bc you’re fast or talented. And we got plenty of hints, I heard insiders drooling over Egbuka and Matthew golden, same for pre-rookie year Ladd, Pre-rookie Amon ra, Pre-rookie year Pickens, etc. BTJ. You hear buzz in camp from day one if dudes are special. We heard no such noise about Travis. I heard more about D’onte Thornton than I did Travis

Now he could be a plus corner full time and thrive… but at WR unless they focus there full time he’s gonna be a waste.

@CarltonJunior What say you since I know you actually tuned in?
He looks like he has no idea what hes doing on offense, like in terms of the playcalls. I think because his time is split, they give him very limited offensive packages so he doesnt have to learn much, but it doesnt work because the routes are short, basic routes that are easy to anticipate, and his packages are tipping pass plays, they very rarely run out of them. So hes an offensive liability right now, for no reason other than he just doesn't know the playbook yet.

Defensively he's played decent but he's been targeted and exploited by TEs specifically, players that are bigger and stronger than him can bully him in 1 on 1 coverage, which is how he drew the PI to lose us the game against the bengals (it wasnt actually a PI but whatever). He's definitely ahead on that side of the ball, but his numbers wont show it yet.

He's also been a better tackler than his frame would suggest, so I expect improvement there.

Right now he's like a CB3 but a WR4 or 5. Ideally wed want him to be CB2 and WR2, but it's gonna take time for him to learn playbooks, NFL language, etc. And god help him if any coordinator gets fired cuz hes gonna have to learn that shyt again next year if it happens

I didnt see this message but yeah me and you are saying the same thing. The TO was the clear sign of why he wasnt getting more offensive snaps and targets

By midseason I'd expect to see a lot of him on offense, but he gotta learn quick..T law doesnt have a long enough lease to give hunter time to learn

Hes small and i think hes soft. Not a good recipe at corner. Comparing him to Charles Woodson was a gross overstatement. Charles didnt show his teeth to smile nearly as much as this kid. You need a mean streak when you dont have the measurables. This has basically been proven historically:respect:

"They're not using him enough," Sanders said on a recent New Heights podcast episode. "I've seen it with my own eyes on an everyday basis for three straight years, so I know what he's capable of, and I know how you've got to take care of him. He never practices on Tuesday. He practices on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. He was ready to play a hundred and some snaps on Saturday, so you didn't need to use him on a Tuesday or a Monday. You don't use him like that."

Hopefully, OC would get him the ball more next week

Fatigue doesn't seem to be an issue so far

WHY?!?? You aren’t getting it :heh:

If I dropped down into the jags team and didn’t know any of these guys’ background and I’m just going off eye test and what they can actually do, my priority would be:

1. BTJ
2. BTJ some more
3. Byshul Tuten in space
4. Etienne establishing the run
5. Get the gadget guy some touches (Travis)
