What's the point of trying to discredit him though? This thread has a jealous female kind of vibe and so does your post. You and the thread starter sound mad that Jay Z is winning. Of course Jay Z is great at pr and marketing himself, but why is that a bad thing? He's playing the game why not that? You don't have to tear Jay Z down or try to discredit him just to give somebody else props. Again, this isn't a thread to give hiphop entrepreneurs besides Jay props, it's a thread to discredit Jay Z. For what though?

He hides his loses well. Think the "J hotels", That jay-z blue truck he was going to come out with. His tenure at Def Jam etc..... People tend to only look at his wins and forget he has taken heavy loses. If you look at Roc Nation as a whole its really nothing to be proud off. He basically signed a 360 deal with Live Nation which to mean seems like a step back especially with the clout everyone claims he has.

And I don't hate Jay. I respect that he mastered the PR game. He is a good rapper. But not the business men his fans would allow you to believe.

To be fair there were several successful projects that were released while he was president of def jam... However, the acts that he focused on "freeway" "beans" failed while Kanye continued his success.

Joe Budden, Ghostface, LL Cool J, DMX, Redman all have a different story to tell as their careers all began to spiral downward



DMX could've gone another 2 strong years after 2004. Joe budden also had a strong following during that time but his project was completely mismanaged


Rick Ross and Young Jeezy also took off under his term.

Im going to get the Nas stans upset,but Nas has wanted to be Jay-z{commercial acclaim} at one point of his career..He just didnt have the right people around him...
