There was small time in history where I thought he had a bit of self-awareness and this report was a joke. Sadly, he's the only recognizable face. Their attendance numbers are still great but PPV has fallen off a cliff for them. They won't even be on PPV anymore when they move to Paramount.

Remember when he did the fake retirement gimmick and nobody gave a fukk? That stuck with him. He was always envious of the adulation The Rock and Stone Cold received. He believed he was on their level. People hated him. NXT turned it all around for Triple H. He became the "voice of the fans" while McMahon was going insane. But then he lost NXT, went through more turmoil, went through health scares, etc. Now he's pretty much turning into washed McMahon creatively but without a backbone and a misunderstanding for why families are important to the product.
