Schetfer/Ian talkin about it was basically either Mitch or Jimmy G and if thats the case I aint mad at it I guess since Jimmy got a bum shoulder and getting Mitch wont cost us any draft picks:manny::manny:

Would have preferred to see us go after Jameis or Deshaun.......but Jameis coming off the knee is risky and Carolina already seems like they willing to give up 3 firsts and a top player for Watson which I dont think the Steelers would even consider, especially how many holes we got on our roster right now

Maybe we still draft a QB at 20 or maybe we just let Mitch and Mason and Haskins battle it out and if they aint shyt like we all expect then we'll be in a better spot to draft a top QB in 2023 :manny::manny:

NYC (but PGH will forever be home)
Not TOO mad at this as a Steeler fan.

The franchise is stingy with draft picks, so we were never really in competition to get Watson.

What this signing suggests is:
  • Team will still look to draft a QB, with Mitch serving as a clear-cut bridge.
  • Team will likely do everything in their power to draft Malik Willis. The mobile/RPO oriented system needed for Mitch we be the same required for Malik. So seamless transition.
  • Hopefully by getting Mitch, it will throw off the desperation of us NEEDING a QB. So less worrying about teams trying to trade up in front of us.

Maybe Steelers going back to their roots which before Big Ben's about 4th year was "QB manage the game and let our run game and defense win".

It wasn't until Ben's middle career where they forgot how to run the ball. Mitch should be able to handle that.

It is amazing that a quarterback who was a complete failure in Chicago and a bench player in Buffalo -- who showed absolutely NOTHING in his time there gets an immediate starting job with another football team.

Even Ryan Fitzpatrick had stretches of games where he looked like he could keep an offense afloat before he got starting jobs in Miami and Washington.
Trubisky hasn't even done that.
