Man I hope they get these truck drivers training up because truckers done had me on :picard: status for a little while now. Nigggas darting through traffic acting like they in a Porsche, taking forever to turn on park they shyt, not securing the load properly. Good luck to whoever jumps in.. I’m not trying to drive a truck though.

On the real tho it does sound fun to go to different states and get hotels, and fukk all these bytches to sleep in different states, as well as try out all the food n shyt.

They really give you the :mjpls: in the trucking industry ? Thought you ain't have to see nobody.

I heard they tryna automate that shyt too.
Depending on where you at, and even then it's only by thr locals not the actual drivers. I've had cacs that look like they could've played an extra in Django come out n give me truccin tips n talk my ear off.

There are a lot of guys on this site that don't like being behind the curve and are going into coding/programming/IT which is a booming field. The money is better than trucking. :yeshrug:
Truth be told automation will affect IT before trucking. Trucking is under the mercy of individual state laws

if u gotta REAL plan it is..if you're a dumb fat retarded nikka that drive 25 years and complain after being used and abused then yeah...

You sound like the typical dude in orientation talking about how he is about to make so much money. Truck driving is a hidden gem. Truck driving is too easy.

You can make money in this field yeah but the one who gets most of it is owner operators and jobs that require years experience. Hell in my field most companies won't hire anyone under 25 and still want two years of truck driving.

Coming out the gate you not about to make a lot. I make about 70k a year now and it's steady going up but my first year I made 14 thousand.

@BrothaZay

I just got the call from swift. Start the academy Monday. They said they're going to put me in a hotel??? I don't need it, I can drive there. So idk..

She said I'll be driving ~2500 miles a week. Only make like $800 - 1100 a week to start.

Did you get paid for training?... when did you actually start getting paid?...

I forgot to ask.

I applied. Waiting on my recruiter to call back Monday. I'm anxious. I'm going to save and get into real estate too. :myman:

Like somebody said don't expect the big money in the first 6 months to a year. You can make enough to live for sure though with the right company. I was with Averitt and Schneider in my first year, so i can say, they will pay decent for your time getting experience. I think Schneider just advertised that they went up in pay for drivers recently. But after that year, or close to it, you just need to hit a few companies you think you want to work for and watch them scramble.

You don't get paid at the academy. But it's only 3 weeks.

You get paid for the 200 hours training with your mentor. You go with your mentor after orientation, which is the Monday or Wednesday following your dmv driving test. Your dmv driving test will be the 3rd Friday at the academy. Don't hit any curbs or you stay an extra week.

Anyway, once your with your mentor it's $500 a week plus your state's minimum wage for every hour after 40.

After you drive 200 hours with your mentor you go to a terminal to take a driving test. If I was i would want my driving test at the Dallas terminal(Lancaster). It's easy af here i literally just drove up the road and made one right turn. The Decatur terminal im sure has a harder test, especially because of where it's located. You'll know what I mean when you see it.

Once you pass that you get your own trucc. 2500 miles a week will get you $925 a week.

I have had checks up to 1100$. After taxes n fees it's like $998

You get paid Thursday night at midnight Phoenix time

Seriously? You are about 10yrs too late.

You better be specialized in your trucking or you aren’t making any money out here.
