My mother is a retired educator and I have another relative who is a high school guidance counselor.

Tragically, what you is said is largely true. Especially as it pertains to Black boys. We're losing our kids way before college becomes a factor.

And many times in high school, there are Black girls who do have the grades and the full-ride scholarship support, but they do not have the parental follow-ups needed to provide the required financial and family profile forms needed by the government and the colleges (FAFSA, etc). My mother would try to fill the parental void for a number of her students.

This mindset is what seperates you from nigerians. We don't impose limits on ourselves as an excuse so we dont even try. If ADOS communities focused they could easily prepare the youth for MIT in the future. But the youth have no chance when the adults dont believe in them.

Remember. People like me and @Rhakim and others were trying to tell you not to get too excited for Trump getting on Muslims and Hispanics cause he was going to get at Black people just as hard...if not the hardest.

The number one threat to Donald Trump is obviously...BLACK EXCELLENCE. That's why he hated on Obama...remember? Cause he was an articulate, intelligent, and educated black man with an equally respectable wife and kids bearing the same levels of accomplishment. Not only does he hate Obama, he hates ANY Black person who reminds him of how pathetic he REALLY is.

They don't want us graduating from ivy league colleges. They don't even want us enrolling in them. They don't want us in their neighborhoods. They don't want us taking their jobs.

If it wasn't for being born into a wealthy family, Trump would of NEVER been able to attend the institutions he has..he had less than 2.5 gpa. Obama did it through hard work. Had to.

So this is his administrations way of saying "no"...

The Trump administration has picked on Asians in colleges, black kids in colleges, latinos, muslims, jews, etc.

I disagree with this. My younger sibling went to MIT and my older sister attened Columbia.

Black kids DO get those test scores...these white ivy league institutions pass them up all the time.

I'm sick of this idea perpetuated that Black people in America don't test high when it comes to the SATs or the BAR or whatever...we do. We just get passed up at a rate higher than everyone else.

Why are almost all of these ivy league institutions almost always 90% plus WHITE students? Cause ivy league/academia is the HEIGHT of racism and keeping the status quo the status quo. Once upon a time, only white people could attend these universities. They were restricted to everyone else. Even though things have changed, that mentality has stayed the same in each of those institutions.

Please provide any sort of data that shows Black Americans with test scores at or above the MIT average getting denied from those schools at high rates (or at all).

We have to talk in reality, and one of those realities IS that the standardized test process is biased against Black students. If we create a false narrative that Black students are testing high enough to get into MIT in large numbers if only MIT wasn't racist, then we add fire to those who claim that we only need to look at test scores and then everything would be equal. Which is total bullshyt.

What I am pointing out tho, is that if the admissions process wasn't working at least somewhat for Black students, then Trump would have no reason to go on the attack. There are a ton of issues that combine together to keep Black folk away from an education. But the university admissions process at Ivy League schools is working at least somewhat for Black students, which is the whole reason that Trump is initiating this lawsuit to block it.

Lineage and identity of a specific aggrieved group who were harmed and policies like AA were specifically designed to address those historic wrongs.

I fear the Trump admin will win but this is why we need to advocate for ADOS specific policies based on our justice claim.

Your issue is that there is zero precedent showing that the kind of people who block race-based programs won't also block lineage-based programs. They're just going to claim that "specific aggrieved groups" only apply to those who were specifically harmed, and since slavery was over before any of us were born they'll say that no living person can claim to have been specifically aggrieved by it. They'll also claim that the current college administration and other students weren't responsible for the grievance in question.

Also I don''t get this argument that a Reparations bill approved by Congress will go to the SC and will get overturned. Why do people keep saying this? That never happened to the Japanese Reparations program so why keep saying it will happen to the ADOS Reparations Bill?
