Race based admission should be gone. It's used to deny black kids more than any other tool available to admissions offices.

That little check box is for "data gathering" and supposed to help AA programs. What it really does is impose a quota on the number of black kids allowed in. W/O race based admissions and blind applications, you could probably get a system where it is based purely on ability and you'd force State schools and lower level institutions to actually be accountable to the kids.

This is a larger topic though and I'll leave it there. But end of the day race based admission and AA hurt black kids far more than it is generally believed.

Without going into detail, you can't fix other people's economic status. You also can't "steal" resources. What you can do is make use of what you have. AA attempts to find a workaround for the former, and it ends up limiting the ceiling on the amount of black kids getting in while not fixing the ACTUAL issue which is education at lower levels. It is just another way to pass the buck.

One resource everyone has is time. And too many of these institutions waste these kids time teaching them garbage and they can't pass these tests. Then the kids themselves don't know how to take responsibility for their own education. I went to top level schools in NYC and had to pass standardized tests, and in no way would I ever support any Affirmative Action system. You setup the few that get in for a world of problems, while denying a ton of other based on actual ability. To fix the problem you educate, not award fake merit based on skin color.

Paying thousands for a credential is a sucker's game if you're going to try and play unprepared.

There are so many colleges that offer cheap degrees you're better off doing that while educating YOURSELF, getting the credential, and getting into the workforce. Jobs out here paying 70K and all you need is intermediate level Microsoft Excel skills that can be learned in less than a week on Youtube.

Edward Blum is a neocon who tried to run for Congress in the 1980s. He started campaigning door-to-door and felt there were too many Black people in his district and thus he had no chance to win. When he lost the race he sued the state of Texas for letting Black folk have too much power with these majority-Black congressional districts, and the case went to the Supreme Court, with the 5 Republican-appointed justices ruling in his favor.

That victory led him to devote the rest of his life to attacking Black folk. He builds research to prove "misuse" of civil rights laws and "inappropriate" examples of multiculturalism. He's instigated numerous lawsuits to destroy the Voting Rights Act, with the most successful being Shelby County vs. Holder, where the conservative majority eviscerated the Voting Rights Act and allowed all the bullshyt we've seen in the last three elections.

He's also instigated numerous lawsuits to end Affirmative Action. When he lost his first few lawsuits with White defendants, he switched it up and began using Asian-American defendants as sock-puppets, believing that gave him better optics and a stronger case.

Officially it was Asian-American groups who asked the Department of Justice to investigate, but Edward Blum was making it happen behind the scenes. His lifelong focus on fukking life over for Black folk is straight evil.
