He got pressed on the treatment of blacks by police and didn't know how to answer. Can somebody explain his point about the usa testing too much. At least that how it comes off. Can somebody break that down?
I'm an expert at how Trump thinks at this point, so let me break it down for you. In the early months of Coronavirus, Trump got criticized for implementing a weak nationwide testing program. Actually, he still gets criticized even to this day for various reasons.
To combat this, Trump manufactured this lie that cases are going up ONLY because we're testing so much. First, think about how outrageous of a statement that is. That's like saying the only reason someone has cancer is because they got tested. No dummy, they had it before getting tested! That's the point of testing to find them and quarantine them!
The manufactured lie is to accomplish two things: 1) This one is subtle. It's a defense against the criticism of his testing plan by indirectly saying his testing program is finding all these cases. Basically a pushback against daily reporting of new cases. 2) a talking-point for his supporters who are brainless and lack the common sense to realize how dumb that argument really is. It's all about creating confusion.
When he first started this line of thinking, I thought he was implying that people being at testing centers at the same time causes spread and increases cases. What a dummy either way.
It's been shown with data that, although cases have increased, the positivity rate has decreased. If he were smart, THIS would have been his main talking-point, not that other drivel. The whole point is to cause confusion and make people go crazy.
