Even if we take your point about "vibes deciding elections," that's exactly why it's important not to casually reinforce racialized narratives.
Fraud prosecutions are accountability. Broad-brush narratives about whole communities are scapegoating.
It's like y'all believe Democrats should govern around racist voter perceptions instead of challenging them. I don't agree with that at all. Minnesota Democrats don't agree with it either, seeing as how they are openly challenging them. I mean, if Walz prosecuted the fraudsters, fixed the oversight gaps, and strengthened monitoring going forward, then he actually did demonstrate executive capacity. And isn't that what we want leaders to do?
Further, if you're going to claim the investigation was hindered because people were too afraid of offending Somalis, you need to show real evidence, not just speculation. Minnesota's Somali community has been heavily surveilled for years, so the idea that officials were suddenly paralyzed by fear of being called racist requires more proof than anecdotal hearsay.
Fraud happened, and the fraud was prosecuted. It shouldn't have taken as long as it did, but I'd rather see it finally shut down than pretend the timing matters more than the fact that it was stopped.
Is that not enough accountability? Does an entire community need to be punished to make amends?
First off, what Trump said is ridiculous, and I can't support what he said.
With that being said, I would ask you the following questions.
1. Are you giving him credit for prosecuting it when he pretty much had no choice as the evidence has been overwhelming? Are you brushing aside the allegations that he and his administration/officials were trying to silence, intimidate, and punish whistleblowers? If the allegations are true about him doing that, then there's no way he should get credit for prosecuting something incredibly obvious.
2. This isn't just a minor amount of fraud over a small period of time. He's been governor for seven years, and the amounts are alleged to have been upwards of around $1 billion. That can't be missed over a seven years period.
He took absolutely no accountability for his complete failures when interviewed. Him and his wife are probably still distracted talking about how beautiful they believe the city burning in 2020 was.
at that crackhead Q babbling moron Lindell running for Governor. Might as well give Waltz the seat if he wins the primary!
