It's not even about dictators. It's just the ones they don't like.

For example , mbasogo in equitorial guinea is no different than maduro( and arguably worse from a humanitarian rights and corruption standpoint ) but America is propping his regime up because of Chevron .

I'm personally surprised Maduro hasn't reached out to Moscow and Beijing. He might need his own counterweight with a sweetheart oil deal to china or a Wagner contract.
Wagner are just Russian rapists, they won't make a difference. America killed dozens of them in Syria

The area all this is found in is according to the news "disputed" territory between VN and GN.

Venezuela has been trying to throw it's weight around since the 1800s. T&T gained independence from the British in '62, Guyana in '66. They've raised "disputes" with both nations over oilfields and oil rights since independence, and more aggressively since both became republics('76 and '70 respectively). Guyana not developing their interior has left them open to ongoing harassment. There is no real dispute, like any aggressor Venezuela will manufacture any they can dream up just to justify their bullying.

I like Guyanese people (the ones I’ve met anyway).. why are they fukking with them again?

Oil?

Venezuela has a shyt ton of oil. They've been laying claim to parts of Guyana (they're right next to each other) that I assume is also resource rich for decades.

Venezuela has been pushing for state controlled oil for a while now.

America is putting the battery in Guyana back to go to war with Venezuela so the US can sweep in and privatize that sweet sweet black gold.

Typical banana republic shyt that chases developing countries into the arms of Russia and China.

Venezuela claims 60% of Guyana. This goes back to 1899 during British rule. It continues after Guyanese independence in the 1960s.

When Guyana discovered oil in 2015, Maduro went mad because some of those deposits are where he thinks is Venezuelan territory. It’s also not just a Maduro or Chavez thing. Most Venezuelans will say that area of Guyana is their land. They have maps in Venezuela showing it that way!

I hate I`ll never be able to find real unbiased reports on this. WTF is a couple bags of drugs? Were they trafficking or a ship got blown up where dudes had personal use contraband? lol because White House reporting like they took out a cartel ship
It’s definitely a small boat. I feel like most coke is on cargo ships.

Normally U.S. Coast Guard interdicts these boats but given the southern Caribbean hasn’t had massive U.S. deployment.

The US Coast Guard has a good working relationship with the Cubans ironically enough.

The cocaine from Colombia via Venezuela is destined for ports in the Dominican Republic, and is then smuggled on smaller boats to Puerto Rico before making it to the mainland USA.

I don’t think it’s a battery in their back if Venezuela has been stealing land and trying to claim anything Guyana can use to make itself wealthy.

The thing that complicates the dialogue I feel is the charges of State Sponsored Narcos. Like is it true or not? Regardless of the boat size it is still a big deal right? I see Venezualans and Anti USA South Americans bigging up Venezuelan standing up all while Venezuela has one of the worst migration crises on earth and all the people leaving Venezuela in droves singing a different tone. This is why I feel it's tough to really hear what's going on because of the Anti and/or Pro Trump stuff too. Like when has Venezuela of recent even been some beacon of positivity? Or Is this just another shyt on the USA/Trump moment?
