Being over doesnt mean youre drawing money. u
No doubt, but look at who can replace Nash in my list. Bret, Hbk, Stimg, Steamboat, Warrior, Orton, Batista, Jericho, Eddie, Edge. Most don't deserve to even be argued against, but HBK and Bret weren't draws on their own either and were never as big as Nash was in 98. Sting was a horrible draw for years, and Nash vs Goldberg was about as big as Sting/Hogan, plus Nash's NWO involvement and HIAC vs HHH puts him over the top

Sting was called a horrible draw but Sting damn sure means MUCH, MUCH more to wrestling history than Nash. Even if it was a NwO legacy thing, Hall was the more liked between them. Hell, he started the hot angle to begin with. Nash vs Goldberg was NOWHERE near as Sting vs Hogan:laugh: Goldberg was already losing popularity at this point...they were chanting Goldberg SUCKS at that point. Nah..that's crazy. If he was facing Goldberg mid 98, it would of been bigger.

This list is my favorites rather than the actual greatest

Bret Hart
The Rock
Stone Cold
The Undertaker
Owen Hart
Chris Jericho
Kurt Angle
Chris Benoit
Rob Van Dam
Razor Ramon

The 1st 4 are set in stone, and the rest are interchangeable on any given day. Also Sting, Macho Man, Mr. Perfect, Mick Foley, and Kane are right on the outside and any of them could be put in any given day

Uncertain grounds
Mix of personal/popular/significance/idk...not addressing those I didnt watch

  1. Hogan
  2. Macho Man
  3. Flair
  4. Austin
  5. The Rock
  6. Bret Hart
  7. Shawn Michaels
  8. Undertaker
  9. Scott Hall
  10. Goldberg

FWIW, I generally liked Flair and Macho more than Hulk, but initial nWo Hulk was GOAT heel and his significance is undeniable. Didnt buy into the hulkamania as a face for the most part. Even though Goldberg may have been more popular than Hall, I cant in good faith put him over Hall. That formulaic bullshyt got tiring and Hall was better on the mic and in the ring. His ladder match(es) with HBK are easily better than any match Goldberg had.

If I had to stretch it out to 15...Nash, Sting, Mick Foley, HHH (meh) and probably Kurt Angle or Scott Steiner or Y2J would be the next 5..on quick thought.

Nash > Sting on the mic
Nash nWo run more historically important (put wcw over) than Sting crow run (prob his peak), especially considering Sting as the crow was predicated on what he would do in regards to the nWo. No nWo, no Crow Sting.
Flair was arguably more over than Sting in the 4 horsemen so downplaying Nash due to Hall isnt on point when contrasting him with Sting. Plus, Hall and Nash as a combo > anything Sting did in tag matches.
Nash held both big belts

Sting needs to have a run with WWE and have his match with Taker, then we'll talk.

All that said, I dont have them very far apart in my rankings but that specific comment is off base.
