Backlash 2000 should've been Wrestlemania 2000

I think there's a combo of No Way Out, Mania, and Backlash that woulda made for a great Mania...

Rock vs HHH straight up woulda been great w the Stone Cold finish from Backlash
Rikishi & Too Cool vs the Radicals wouldve been good
Jericho/Benoit/Angle wouldve still been good
Hardyz/Dudleys/E&C would've been great
Kane/X-Pac one on one could've blown off here

that coulda been the central Mania matches and thrown in another 3 to make a solid 8-match card. Even a regular battle royal if they just wanted to get a bunch of dudes on the card. We didn't really need tag matches like that T&A/Head Cheese shyt,or that loooong ass Hardcore clusterfukk...

Been rewatching everything WWF in 2000. Man that was a great year, even without Austin

Backlash 00 Judgement day

Raw and Smackdowns were all piff as well

been watching the same shyt. it's crazy how different it is from watching it as a 8 and 9 year old. a few observations i had:
they legit had rock feuding with al snow



and big show was even then. his title reign was straight up garbage and that two ref match on Raw with raw was one of the worst matches I've ever seen.




rikishi over as fukk. i see why they tried to push him. and grandmaster got some nice pops in his solo matches if only they rememberedhim 11 years later.




big bossman was getting way too much camera time.




and the women's division is as fukk. i knew it wasn't shyt but not like this. that title ain't mean shyt back then. a lot of these broads i thought were fine as hell back then, watching now they're pretty (looking at you especially kat) I'm about a month into trish's debut though she badder than i remember I've had Layla as the baddest diva ever but prime trish might get her spot back.

Watching summer 04 raws now, I'm notocing how good of a worker Batista was back then. All of his offense looks good and his matches always make sense. I remembered it as him being pretty bad early on, but he's actually good at this time.

Week to week there were great tag matches. Jericho/Shelton vs Batista/Orton on one of these May raws was piff.

Eugene was a bad idea that they actually executed about as well as they could've.

His first couple years were pretty good, then he fell off around 98/99 and his disinterest in the product really showed. It really affected the commentary.

Idk I thought Brain was still enjoyable all the way to the end. Some of his calls towards the end were even better than the start since he was clearly bombed and just talking shyt.
