So why are black women currently faring better in college and in the job market? Do you understand what "tangible" means?
Black male privilege isn't tangible. Its an experience.

aka we can't prove shyt but please just believe usBlack male privilege isn't tangible. Its an experience.
They never do,that's why people look at them as full of shyt. Don't say we men ignore things when we can just as easily say and prove women do same things regarding men too.Do you take this same attitude in regards to an issue like say domestic violence? Even though black women are clearly victims of DV at higher rates than black women, black are victims of DV too. Yet this fact is often called a deflection to black women being domestically abused simply because black men aren't domestically abused as much. DV against black men is basically ignored and even made fun of(see jay Z-Solange), would you say that's an example of black female privilege?

To deny that black male privilege exists is to deny that male privilege exists. Male privilege relies on actions and attitudes that come at the expense of women. When we look at race our privilege, as black men, results from actions and attitudes that come at the expense of black women. I would also like to make the point that you can acknowledge the historical atrocities, and the current issues of racism that we have to deal with as black men and ALSO acknowledge the privilege we get from being men in a patriarchal society. Black male privilege is where race and gender intersect. Thats all I'm saying.aka we can't prove shyt but please just believe us
she knew she was talking some bullshyt, couldn't even back her shyt up

What? Lol. Women dont pretend to be men. Men pretend to be women. I do know some chicks that people ASSUME are guys because they dont outwardly claim their femaleness but look how some of these dudes act. That's justified, right?I know for a fact there are women posing as men on here.

I agree with you, but the person I was responding to I was trying to make it clear that BMP isn't saying that we're born with silver spoons in our mouths and given all types of gifts for being black men. I feel like people spend too much time on the actual word "privilege." But I agree that BMP is real.It is definitely tangible. It is the reason why despite Black women making up 75% of the earners of Black graduate degrees, and the majority of the Black degree holders, Black men still earn more on the dollar than Black women and have far more wealth. Being male in a patriarchal society is a privilege, period. Blackness does not exempt Black men from that, it just doesn't get them as much privilege as white men.
