I know Gwen Stacy the character well. Spider-Man is probably my Goat super-hero. The problem is that circumstantial “evidence” is being used to allege that this version of Gwen is trans. Much like how Tom Holland’s version of Spider-Man is an amalgamation of classic Peter Parker + Miles Morales, and how Into The Spider-Verse Miles differs from comics Miles in some aspects, they are using this to say this is a different version/take on “Gwen Stacy”

The character is voiced by Hailee Steinfeld, a biological woman who identifies as such. And there is really no evidence to say she’s anything other than a biological female character in the film.
Its really much ado about nothing honestly.
Like seriously. She’s got an “edgy” haircut and highlights in her hair. That translates to trans now? Thats kind of insulting to both biological women AND trans if thats what we’re reading into as markers

I don't think she's trans but it also doesn't really matter if people feel like what she's going through relates to their experience as trans people.
But like some one above just mentioned, if she was actually trans some people would 100% have an issue with Hailee Steinfeld playing her voice actress. So really it's just people reading into the scenario in the movie based on their experiences.
