Two months later, where do you rank MGSV?

How was it?

Kojima made the mistake of giving the long time critics of the franchise everything they asked for. MGSV is a victim of its own success. The same people that complain about buying the same call of duty year after year are complaining about how different this game is from the ones before it. I said it before, you aren't going to find a game this jam packed full of features let alone all of them executed incredibly. The arguments sound more like "oh my God this game was incredible but now that we have this imagine if they would have done that." Completely dismissing everything the game did right.

wrong
Two completely different arguments that are unrelated to each other. You guys are dismissing every legitimate complaint because you simply liked it. I acknowledge it's strengths but to act like the game is nearly perfect and can't improve sounds like the ultimate fanboy accusation y'all like lobbying at posters.

There's LOTS of room for improvement in other departments for this title. Nobody asked Koji to go to one extreme from another. Y'all acting like the divide in opinions is fairy tales. A LOT of people were disappointed, more than any other game in the series.

Every game can improve.

But you sure act like the games you love are beyond criticism:sas2:

and exactly what games do I love that I act are beyond criticism? There's a big difference between two people simply disagreeing on something and a difference between something being objectively inferior to something else that I ignore.

The main difference between this and anything else is there's a reference point(older titles in the series) to argue from.

If someone says they don't like Halo 4 for example, they aren't being "beyond critique" because they can reference Halo 3, 2 and 1 for comparison.
If your point is about comparing older games to ones that came out 5 to 6 years later (Uncharted 2 and say.. MGSV) then that's a stupid argument because of course games will improve years later than an older title.

I know exactly what you'll say.
You'll talk about unreleased games(UC4) or you'll talk about Driveclub. I already know your angle.

:heh: @ the Tape System being a chore

How? With all that you can do in the game... Sorting out recruits, going through side ops, upgrading weapons... There's plenty of stuff you could do while the tapes played. Gameplay was at the forefront in MGSV. Instead of being forced to watch 30-60 minute cinematics to get the story, you got tapes that you could play wherever and when ever you wanted while playing the game
All these years of people complaining about MGS cutscenes, Kojima decides to finally make something convenient and it's a problem :bryan:
