Houston is bad, but got damn Austin is horrendous. That city wasn't built to handle the amount of people it has now.

Back to Houston, the highways will never be big enough. By the time they finish current expansion, more expansion will be needed.

Public transportation really isn't an option because the city is just to big and it takes to long to get to anywhere using it.

I'm considering moving out to Fairfield near the outlets, but the drive into the city got me :whoa:

they have hov lanes and park & rides for a reason....

:dame: you ever use the HOV Lane on 290. Plus it's just me I'd have to pay toll.

And when the estimated public transportation time is >hour:scust: it ain't really a viable option. Only really an option to those within the 610 loop and really that's only if they stay or work on a rail line

People are moving to Texas because of the low cost of living, cheap rent and McMansions.

That was 5 - 10yrs ago. Rent is creeping up, more apartments and master planned neighborhoods are popping up and commutes are getting longer.

O&G is taking advantage of the acreage on Beltway 8 North between i-10 and 59, what you see being built around it? New homes $300k and up, new apts, and all types of strip centers.

:upsetfavre: Cmon breh. I meant the time it takes to get from one destination to the other. For instance I just looked at the travel times for the Galleria, Edwards MarQ and the Toyota Center from my house.

MarQ Driving=19 min PT=62 min
Galleria Driving=19 min PT=83 min
TC Driving=28 min PT=88 min

South Florida doesn't get hot as typically tropical climates usually don't. South Florida almost never hits 100 degrees ( it has only happened once in the past 70 years.)

Weather Friday in Miami, Thunderstorms 84 degrees Fahrenheit .........Grand Cayman Friday, 87 degrees Fahrenheit sunny......Jamaica Friday, 88 degrees Fahrenheit, cloudy.....Not much difference except for the storms:manny:

Not at the current price of gas. Plus the convenience of less travel time among other things>

I really don't think Public Transportation will become valuable to the city unless more focus is put on trains instead of the bus lines. There should be a rail line that runs parallel to all the major highways.
