Largest evacuation in U.S. history.......... I was in it

...the reason why people don't use it is due to the negative stigma people have about buses... which is somewhat understandable... but... the buses used for hov service are express buses not local buses..... Metro express is as effective as rail; people just don't use it as much

:mjlol: Yea no one is using them. Most folks ride solo and don't want to pay the toll if that is an option. You keep harping on the HOV lanes but folks ain't with that. Houston needs a drastic change in public transportation. Not bandaids like HOV lanes and supposedly improved bus routes. :francis:

Why do you think that is?

I've already stated it multiple times over. Drastic expansion of the rail system. There is no excuse for a city this big to not have an adequate rail system.

:francis:

People have a negative stigma towards bus transit in the U.S. ...... hence why they don't use it!..... Rail? explain to me what does rail offer that dedicated bus lanes don't?

Breh we had an entire discussion about this yesterday. Rail offers much faster transport. I'd rather a 25 minute train ride possibly paired with a 10 minute bus ride instead of an hour long bus ride paired with a 10 minute train ride.

Yeah the Irish gang members running city and state politics and hiring other Irish gang members in police and fire departments are savages. And yes their corruption is directly responsible for the population decline.

Thank you for saying that homie. Them the real fukking savages....word to the Daley family.

But on the real the reason folks leaving Chicago is because of the lack of jobs. The job market is fukking dead up there.

I am from Chicago and live in Dallas. The difference between Chicago and Dallas is that in Dallas you could literally fall and find a job. Folks come here and get jobs in a week or two. Where as in Chicago you may be looking for months for a job.

Houston is bad, but got damn Austin is horrendous. That city wasn't built to handle the amount of people it has now.

Back to Houston, the highways will never be big enough. By the time they finish current expansion, more expansion will be needed.

Public transportation really isn't an option because the city is just to big and it takes to long to get to anywhere using it.

I'm considering moving out to Fairfield near the outlets, but the drive into the city got me :whoa:

Places like Dallas and Houston never developed public transportation like cities in Chicago, DC and NYC. But at the same time Dallas and Houston never grew like those cities back in the early 1900s.

No it doesn't..... If a train ran from downtown to 290/beltway 8, it'll take almost an hour...

I think you are confusing local routes with express routes... express buses have no stops inbetween....... they are as fast and cheaper than rail..... the reason why people don't favor it; negative stigma towards buses.....
