Forgot how dusty this forum was. Tyler is easily one of the best hip hop artists out right now. The shock rap shyt was almost a decade ago and he’s outgrown it. Igor was a classic album and chromokopia been nice so far.
Igor still makes me feel the same way as I did when I first heard it when it dropped :wow:

nikkas here are tripping calling his music "weird". Maybe when Odd Future was still active but from Flower Boy to now has been Tyler being much more introspective and mature.

Have you ever given an album of his a chance or are you just going off singles? Serious question.
Every album of his I give a chance. Cherry bomb on down I didn't care for much of his music tbh. Just not for me.
You're not equipped to have this conversation dog. Artsy fartsy covers a pretty wide spectrum of folks, not just gay people. If you have any creative aspirations at all, you're probably one of those types.
Artsy farts is a loose term. When you say artsy fartsy what industry. When I think artsy fartsy I think bougie weird types who work out of small studio spaces. At least half of those types are gay. It's the truth breh.

Damn, didn't know Tyler had motion like that.

no hits, no radio play

think of all the artists who are getting radio play (nicki, glorilla, meg thee stallion, future, lil baby, etc). they arent moving 200k first week. Some of them are all over radio and arent even touching that. Tyler a legit star. He has grammys, the sales, the acclaim, the creativity.

He's a good artist. Simple as that

EDIT: The first few pages of this thread are salty as fukk :laff:

"Weird" is a lazy critique. Anything slightly outside of what people are accustomed to is weird.

Then you have people who are enamored with rappers who sell them dreams of having money, women, and being heavy in the streets even though they're squares themselves. People don't like listening to someone who's just regular. Regular is corny to them.

He's been cultivating his audience since he was 17. Most of the original OF fans are still supporting and he keeps adding on new fans. He's never changed his sound but he expanded/improved it and his content got more mature as he got older. How many rappers have their highest selling album be their seventh album?

Tyler hasn't been anything near normal arguably ever, definitely since his 3rd or 4th album. He bacame the materialistic braggart rapper he hated on b*stard.
Common and Pete.
I repectfully disagree. That album is good but boring and a bit one note. I've listened to it maybe three times, I've run that LL dozens of times. Less skips too.

Crazy how people keep the same taste as they had as a kid with rap music.
I can listen to the typical rap content time to time like when I'm working out or when I'm trying to hype myself up but outside of that I want something with substance.

You need to run that Common and Pete album back a couple of more times, no way In hell that album is boring off of just three listens Common did his thang lyrically and the production was of Pete's best instrumentals in recent years.

As far as LL's album goes, for me I've never been to big on his music, I skimmed through that album but I'll give it an honest listen.

I knew my opinion on the first play, still played it more. It's boring in spots. Downtempo and low energy. It's good but not fun. LL's album is well rounded and high quality. Proclivities is the only ehh song, and that's Saweetie's fault.
