:what: who said i was devaluing extra possessions :what:

i said he gets credit for a rebound for tapping the ball to a teammate IMO -that should not be considered a re
listen: i cant be mad, its affective & he gets credit for it -smart move on his part.... but i cant remember when they started to allowed this as a offical stat for rebound
it pads his numbers -good for him

but back to the topic.... the OP is 100% right
13 yrs in the game & still has zero offensives move (not a good look)

He has stone hands.....but he has found his niche and I respect that. I don't think he should have been the DPOY when he wasn't even the best defensive player on his team tho. And those tap outs should NOT be counted as rebounds.

You guys don't watch basketball huh Ben Wallace and Marcus camby both used to do it . Noah does it too you act like its the Tyson chandler rule or something :beli:the score keeper haas discretion to decide if him or the one who gains control gets the board . It's been done for years

Tyson Manages To Chip In 10-12 Points As Well As A shyt Load Of 2nd Chance Points For The Team To Score, Its Like If People Dont See 20PPG Next To His Name He's Deemed Worthless

Brooke Lopez Is Half The Defender, Rebounds On Par With Carmelo Anthony And Has 0 Intangables But Because He Can Score He's A Big Deal Now

If Brooke Lopez Has A Rough Scoring Night The Guy Is Useless 7 Foot Trash Taking Up Space

Tyson Can Have 6 Points And Change The Entire Game When Hes On The Floor

I agree people are devaluing Tyson Chandler, but you underestimate Brook as a defender, he can defend, and he can rebound, but we got 2 very good rebounders in Hump and Evans, and a decent one in Gerald Wallace, Brook is our 2nd option after Deron, we need him more as a scorer than anything else, his defensive awareness has improved even if it's not reflected in the stats per se. Also keeping in mind dude only plays around 30 mins a game, its all relative just like Tyson's value to the Knicks can't really be measured in stats. The guy can score 4 pts a game but his defense has great value, case in point that Cleveland game yesterday. Their roles are opposite each other in a sense but invaluable either way.

I Wasnt Even Tryna shyt On Brook He Was Just The 1st Guy To Popped Into My Mind

As Far As The "Brook Doesnt Have To Be A Good Rebounder Cuz The Nets Have Good Rebounders" Argument, Its A Weak And Tired Excuse, The Guy Is Just A Poor Rebounder

He's improved this year considerably in rebounding, it's not all about stats, his footwork and positioning have improved, he'll likely never be a double digit rebounder but I'll take his improvement on defense all day, best he's looked since rookie year. He's just not a junkyard dog, not in his DNA. If he can do what's doing now and avg between 8-9 rebounds, I'd be happy with that.

He's Actually Got Worse As A Rebounder Since He Entered The League

Carmelo Anthony Is A SF And Gets KiLLED That He Doesnt Rebound Enough, Yet He Only Averages 1 Less Rebound Then 7 Foot Brook

Brook is only 24 and in his 5th year and hes actually showing effort on defense. Hes actually learning to use his size to alter and block shots and get in better position on D.

:rudy:

Tyson just swats bricked JR smith and Felton shots lets not try to act like he's Rodman or Barkley grabbing the ball in the air with force

he was the first person I saw do what Chandler does.

Well he broke his foot last year and his rebounding is about the same despite having guys on the team with double digit rebounds, not saying he will ever be great but he gets the team crucial boards. Also I have no issue with Melo's rebounding (or as a whole for that matter). I think next year will be a better indicator.

I don't care how long it has been done, it shouldn't count as a rebound. I'm not hating in Tyson. I just don't feel a tap out is a rebound.

Why not ?? I didn't see all this outrage last year about this or in years past . It's suspicious how now that they bring it up all the time for Tyson that people keep saying it shouldn't count .

Yea that's true, I don't get why it's suddenly such a big issue that chandler is having it brought up all the time

rebound - Dictionary definition and pronunciation - Yahoo! Education

You're not gaining possession of the ball on a tap. The shot clock doesn't reset at that point. It resets when the person who grabs the ball possesses it so at that point it should be considered a rebound.
