I been in situations where it's a whole group of drunk girls and they all want you to be some entertaining dancing monkey 10x worse than this one in the video and managed to handle it way better than this dude did. Worse case scenario you can be blunt and tell them you need to focus on the road to drive safely and talking distracts you and they'll leave you alone. Or tell them you're sick or have a sore throat and it's best for you to stay quiet. Plenty of ways to handle those type of people/situations while maintaining professionalism.

Topic title is :comeon: but after watching the video I agree the driver is a clown.

Got a bad attitude because because you've had the apps on for 11 Hours, trying to One-Up CDL Drivers. Nobody said you had to stay online to squeeze out another $6 trip, log off and go home. Out here at 1AM acting surprised you have lively passengers.

I follow the rideshare industry and this pettiness is what makes it look bad. Acting like they didn't get refunded for their trip and then get the next one free from one of the 5+ drivers within a one-mile radius of where they got dropped off.

Driver overreacted. A “threat” of a 1 star rating is not grounds to cancel a ride and leave them stranded midway to their destination.


One thing that we’ve learned from these ridesharing social experiments is that people are AWFUL. It’s become increasingly apparent that Uber/Lyft need to take action to set proper expectations. I’ve been in cabs in cities around the world and I can’t remember which cities did this but some (both internationally and domestically) forced the cabs to display a sort of bill off rights explicitly listing what each party (driver and passengers) is and is not entitled to. Set clear boundaries and it’s easier to get people to people to abide by them.

It ain't about "bowing down" to a customer, breh. It's about doing your job with the minimum of drama. If customers initiate it because they perceive an attitude that you aren't projecting, then YOU, not them, have to defuse the situation. Dude had opportunities to do just that and just said 'fukk it.' and made it worse by not saying anything until the situation got out of his control.

I, personally, don't like talking because I'm an Introvert, but I know the best way to control people is through communication.​

I've seen hella videos of passengers acting out of pocket but this wasn't one of them

but it is his car, he raised the volume when they asked but it seems they wanted him to blast the music. the caption in the video said he wanted to be able to hear the GPS commands over the music.

I used to drive limos. If passengers were being talkative, I'd converse. If they wanted to hear certain music, I'd play it. If they tried hitting on me, male or female, I'd play it cool and tell them I'm married/straight. All with respect and professionalism. Tips were AMAZING. I got money and gifts every day I drove.​

With that said, dude was being a crab to customers. I'm not saying he should have bent over backward to please them, but at the very least you could be courteous.​

The problem is rideshare drivers aren't employees working for a company. They're just regular people picking up nikkas. There is no training, no expectations and no monitoring other than the rating system which is controlled by an algorithm.

Most uber drivers would never be hired as taxi or limo drivers.

Would have been easy to get and keep them satisfied. You were already playing the music, so turn it up. When she talked about the 1 start he could've played it smooth. Now you got nighas fukkin your shyt up. Since you have more to lose (them fukkin up your whip, stealing from you, etc.), just oblige them for a moment. Wasn't even like they asked you for much.
