quite aways from them being considered legit. i actually think California would be one of the last states to allow a ride sharing/cab company/whatever to use it.
Tesla AI has had a few notable crashes.
that's still their goal though, i'm pretty sure that Uber has actually stated it, not sure about Lyft.
i feel bad for the people who drive uber and lyft, here especially. i know people who do it. my beef is not with them or people who use it, it's with the companies and their predatory practices.

The problem with Uber and all of these other ride sharing companies is
1. too many drivers. Damn near anyone can sign up which leads to over saturation. Drivers suffer. And the quality and professionalism goes down as well.
2. Too much completion. Uber had to lower their rates to compete with Lyft. Again the driver suffers.
3. Taxi drivers. Not only did they cut into their revenue stream, but those drivers started driving for Uber and Lyft. All drivers suffer.
4. No built in gratuity.
So now drivers are complaining about the pay when they should be complaining about the lax hiring process. I mean people are actually begging to be employees. If that happened, there would be less drivers but job security will go away.

it's actually true.Uber should be lobbying for Medicare 4 All and then people's insurance wouldn't be their problem
the problem is, the politicians who support medicare for all, want to tax the shyt out of all of their uber executive asses and they would rather have their money than give a fukk about the health of their drivers.

They should have made a more equitable & sustainable business model. Their service is simple AF, there is no reason they should charge what they do.

I accept the tradeoff that comes with contract work. I don't have a boss and I work whenever I want. As a consequence, I have to pay my own health insurance.
Besides... Uber is hemorhaging money, and you expect them to give you more??
