They did start it. They used the Minsk accords as a ruse to build up their military trained by NATO so they can be prepared to fight Russia once they announced they would be seeking NATO membership.

Thank you for posting and showing them the real. Every time I show these clips in the Russia war threads i get blocked and warned because those people still think Russia is out of tanks and missiles. Meanwhile they're shipping heaps of equipment to Belarus and now Ukraine is getting worried. Wagner and Russian forces are fighting an army wholly supplied by NATO and winning. Now NATO is complaining about being low on equipment and munitions.
Ive been watching the battle of Bakhmut since November of last year. Talk shyt all you want about Russia but those boys are learning and fighting back. They've started to bomb Ukrainians electrical infrastructure which is fukking up their shipping and electric needs. Ukraine now has rolling blackouts because of it. Which slows their shipping and logistics.
Not to mention all the bodies Ukraine lost in the Soledar & Bakhmut battles. I would post some videos as well but I always get snitched on and banned when I do.

I stopped posting on these Ukrainian war threads cos I was labelled a Russian troll & got banned twice. And I’m just posting on this one cos you made salient points in your post.
I think the problem with this forum is that:
a). The talking points revolve mostly around American political agenda & you’re not allowed to have any divergent views (even if you’re not American & have a different worldview/understanding of ideological terms & foreign relations) - else you’ll be labelled something you’re not.
b.) Americans are generally very insular/propagandised without much knowledge of global dynamics & very rigid in their views. Also, their understanding of war & military prowess is America bullying defenceless countries with no army that mostly can’t shoot whilst showing off trillions of dollars worth of overpriced equipment (that’s the war porn of the past 3 decades). They don’t understand what a war between peers or near-peer looks like hence they can easily buy the propaganda that Russia is losing. Korean war wasn’t even the US near-peer & US military got routed by Chinese peasants.
I’ve been following the war religiously since it started & it’s the reason why I got back on Twitter & downloaded Telegram. War isn’t fun but it’s an opportunity to actually understand & see the intricacies of a real war in real-time between a near-peer (Ukrainian probably had the 2nd best ready military in Europe going into the war) since none has happened since I was born. And this war has been very interesting throughout.
Make no mistake - Russia is fighting the whole of NATO machine with Ukrainians as the cannon fodders (there are also tens of thousands of soldiers from NATO countries fighting there & SF). The over $100billion in military aid is almost twice Russia’s annual military budget & all of NATO’s satellites & intelligence are at Ukraine’s disposal.
On Russia’s side, I think Putin has been very naive & Russian intelligence has been subpar hence the embarrassment at the beginning of war. He underestimated how far NATO was willing to go with their aims & escalate if necessary. But he has tightened a bit now after Merkel & Hollande came out to say they played him with Minsk Agreement & used the 8yrs to build Ukrainian military into a world class one. Western Europe also exposed themselves as a paper tiger, without any military that’s ready for war (they’re living on past glory). Expensive weapons (both western & Russian) also got exposed since the only Wunderwaffe worth its salt is the shytty ultra-cheap turbofan Iranian drone.
Also, what’s interesting is that regular Russian soldiers aren’t really doing much fighting on the frontlines apart from the VDV (paratroopers), 1st Tank Army & Spetsnaz - they mostly handle artillery or at the 3rd level of defence. Wagner & the separatists are the ones doing most of the fighting. I think this is cos they’re still expecting NATO troops on the ground. But regardless, these guys are getting war-hardened/experienced daily, as they keep adapting to new tactics. And that will be handful when all hell break loose down the line.
Finally, this war has been a good theatre to see that all these modern weapons won’t be much of a factor in the next big war. And wars will always be about trenches, tanks, artillery, intelligence, tactics & morale like the first 2 world wars - unless someone cheats with nuclear weapons. You can only bomb your way to victory against defenceless poor countries - you can’t do that against peer or near-peer countries that have multiple layers of sophisticated SAM batteries & AD.
