We were laughing at them way before this.
The transparency isn’t the problem, the intent is. If you’re all about your community, why wouldn’t you at least offer the opportunity for equity? If i give 10,000, all I can get is a “credit” and a thank you? When people invest in movies, there’s usually a percentage coming back. Some ownership.
Tariq Elite literally goes to the well, takes the water out, puts it in a bottle and then goes back to the owner of the well and sells it back to him.
It’s a good business move, but if you’re intention is for the community, it’s not exactly moralistic. The only thing he’s giving out is knowledge, which is not tangible in itself. Those checks here and there are good, but what long term opportunities is he creating for the people who make him rich? Like I said, there isn’t nothing wrong with the model as a businessman, but when you portray yourself as a community ally, you should want to create equity and long term establishments for your people.
I agree it’s not a huge amount to give out, but that’s because he makes it that way. Just say he allowed investors and raised up a few million, made it real quality and take it on the film festival circuit. Then there’s a bidding war. Then there’s more millions offered. Then you release it and make more. Next thing you know, brothers could have enough for a small studio. Give out true long term opportunities in film and media.I was saying the same thing around the time of HC2/3.
And Tariq has been asked during stream "Can I invest rather than donate", and the answer has always been no.
The strength of the HC fundraising (and FDMG for that matter) is its grassroots. A bunch of people donating small amounts. For HC Series the largest single donations have been Two 3k, and about Four 5k.
On one hand im like...How much equity can you really give out? But I agree im not donating a huge amount to create a product and i dont see some type of return.
the problem is , the church as trained most black people to look at leadership like a congregation looks at a preacher. this then places leaders in the jesus template which is irrational and illogical. that form of leadership has literally never worked. These are your leaders?
My brothers in america are lost in the dunya
tariq paid umar 500 for hidden colors, goddamn. thought it was atleast 2 gs
Please name some leaders all blacks should followUmar, Boyce and Tariq are all not fit to be considered leaders in the Black community.
These nikkas are jokes.
I never donated anything but thanks for assuming.Do you know how people in Hollywood make other people rich? They give them opportunities to invest in a film and then eat on the back end. The more you invest, the better quality your film and the better opportunity to make more money. Then everyone gets a percentage and you rinse and repeat. The fact you think giving out equity in a film is laughable shows you’re business mind isn’t where it needs to be.
You’d rather donate to somebody and be happy with him giving your twitter treats about white supremacists and laughs every week.
"Tariq you're better than this"
"NO I'M NOT NIKKA!!!!"

So you’re saying we aren’t sophisticated enough to hit all of those qualifiers and produce a major documentary? We should just keep nickel and diming? I don’t see your point.I never donated anything but thanks for assuming.
You helped make my point though, that’s the way the Hollywood system works and my business mind is definitely in the right place.
It’s a major system with all types of negotiations and contracts. Along with groups such as the DGA, PGA and others.
Not to mention the requirements for certain films to be up for equity financing.
Is the film an inherent mitigated risk?
Does it have any qualifying assets?
A minimum guarantee on potential profit margin?
If dude was backed by a major studio then I could see your point.
Like I said, I don’t even really check for tariq like that but I wouldn’t use the film point as a knock against him.
There are other aspects of him I don’t particularly care for though.
I dont have a surrogate father.Just say you don’t want to admit the wrong you see in your surrogate father. You’re the type of person he lives off of and i don’t blame him. A sucker is born everyday
