Schools have boards and finance teams for a reason. Schools are a business. Most academics, lecturers and speakers would do a bad job of running a school because it requires accounting, fundraising, building relationships in the political realm and in the community.
Dr. Umar is very well-read, but that has zero to do with opening a functional $400k building. He’s literally hoping for someone to come with millions of dollars to bail him out at this point.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. But I also disagree with someone who said he should've "jumped on the next wave" or something to that effect. That would show even less integrity in a game where people should always be wary of the next hustler.

How can we be sure that he is intelligent enough to run a school?
how does he “seem” as though he can? Running a school requires EQ (emotional intelligence) more than IQ and the dude has shown very little tact and decorum, poise, or any true qualities of a leader of young men.
from an intelligence standpoint, he speaks very good talking points, but it doesn’t take a genius to regurgitate his rhetoric. Nothing I’ve seen of him shows any deep thought. Not once have I been overly impressed with his ability to come up with deeper concepts. He says very surface level things “we don’t deserve cash reparations because we’ll buy Jordans” is insanely base level.
It’s crazy that he’s gotten this far riding his wave. There are other all black schools that are able to run without insulting parents and supporters. The dude has shown me very little honestly
