dudes from NY exaggerate shyt ... ive done it my entire life
I dont think the issue is whether he is denying that Trick Daddy wasnt buzzing locally or behind Luke who was already a superstar
I think he's saying he was one of the main people from out of state that cosigned and tried to push for his outreach
its no different to how Mac Dre is a local legend... and he approached Ludacris and Ludacris turned him down and beefed
if Luda took the demo and helped a little. He would be saying "I put Mac Dre on to Atlanta and the South"
its not entirely true... but it would be the door and promotion that made shyt come together quicker
same with Jay-z Ha remix... Baby can say... "We put Jay-z on in New Orleans" its not true, but it was the moment that bridged the gap between the two cities
Joe gets blamed here for talking about himself and disregarding the other people who had a hand in it
he did the same with Eminem before talking about getting his demo tape.... sure he probably listened and promoted it
but alot of people got that demo tape and did the same thing ... Dre actually did for Eminem, what Luke didnt do for Trick Daddy which makes Fat Joe's story sound more like he was the one who did the most.
I wouldnt say Joe lies ... but more so that Joe talks only from his perspective on things.... which makes sense... its his interview about his account
all these dudes try to say they found Nas or Mf Doom when everyone was on them anyways

its not like they wouldnt have gotten the same release without 1 or 2 people. But rolling with them and latching on did help Nas And Doom technically. I wouldnt say Diddy put on Biggie, but at the same time I wouldnt say he didnt either.

he gets credit even though it was inevitable
