HBCUS have notoriously been bad with Administrative things like financial aid and housing among other things

however out of all the black people i know, all the ones from hbcu got a job. I didn’t ask about debt or anything, but they all got good jobs.

I would have went to an HBCU if I had a scholarship

the homey in the vid was right. No university houses 100% or even 50% of thier student body. Some universities just dont have the resources.

I don't understand. I truly don't understand. Did the school not know when THEIR students would arrive/when THEIR classes start? If they knew the dorms weren't ready why not tell the parents and students before they arrived? fukk kind of shyt is that!


There's literally no excuse not to have dorms ready at the start of the school year. Will these parents get reimbursed or will they have to eat the loss? That dad said the place they're staying at is far, how far and do they provide shuttles? I have so many questions.

I went to Grad school at CAU.

It’s baffling that they can’t fix these issues because they happen year in and year out. Same shyt that happened to me in 03 and 04 is still happening.

I love HBCU's but the folks that work in the Financial Aid office and Housing are usually on some BS

I dreaded every single time I had to deal with anyone in the business offices.

HBCU’s traditionally have great professors but horrible business operations.

Even taking younger family to college and seeing it was the worse. What is it about fukking hbcu that they just run so inefficient.

For incoming Freshmen, its expected that you have on-campus housing but you don't get your dorm/room assignment until you show up to orientation on move-in day
for upperclassmen who still want on-campus you should be able to make sure you are good way before you show up

I don't think I could make it at school around so many cacs,so I see the benefits. I suppose that alone is a good enough reason to go. Going because you don't think you would finish around so many caucasians. Not that I neccessarally ever hated all white people,but I wouldn't be happy around so few people who look like me and understand me. I just don't think HBCU's necessarily foster pro blackness,or your attendance at one makes you more woke. It could cause one to believe they are more woke/unassimilated than they are because they attended one. Easiest way to be lulled to sleep.

The jankiness of HBCU's runs both ways. Just like I didn't know that I should apply for financial aid ( I literally made the decision to go to college two weeks prior to Freshmen Orientation) I didn't have enough money for housing in the next semester. The Dorm Director not only let me stay for free (after the Assistant suggested I ask him) but he Made me an RA and gave me my own room.

The secretary of the Dean of Housing and the Dean of Housing confronted me about this and the Dean said I like you you ain't like those other DC dudes.

Then the Dean gave me a job at the end of the semester moving people's shyt out of their rooms ( of course this was a massive conflict of interest but he looked the other way and I got paid). Needless to say none of this would've happened at a PWI
