It's tough for the administration.Yo when I went to my school and they told me I had to apply for financial aid ( I planned on paying for the semester in cash) I saw the line and I was about to say fukk it and go back home. If this fly ass chick didn't call me upstairs and had me fill out forms I would've left.
. Still had my same roommate but we different rooms. The person I did share the room with was never home
We had to get something while dealing with them microaggressionsI ain’t have these problems at my PWI The University of Georgia![]()

Nah we not doing this. There is no excuse for this and it’s a reason many people don’t go to HBCUs. Return to school dates been official for months to a year. Not being ready is inexcusable. Your college choice is a life altering decision. It’s not something to be sacrificed for some ideal of a “greater good” that doesn’t exist. Go to the best school you can afford, the end. That name will mean something. I have an undergrad degree from Michigan and a grad degree from USC. Those names carry weight and have helped me get into doors regardless of being a black dude.So we just going to start a smear campaign against HBCU's
Things like this are bound to happen, they don't have the best resources, most money. But that's not supposed to be the point of going to an HBCU if you believe in HBCU's. You should be willing to sacrifice if you believe don't you think?
At what point can we hold ourselves to a slightly higher standard and do better? So we just going to start a smear campaign against HBCU's

There are great HBCUs. But this type of shyt shouldn’t be happening. And yes I understand there no doubt are small white colleges where fukkery like this happens too. No excuse for them either.
.dude it used to take at least a week to get validated then you had to pick classes. I literally joined the basketball team just so I could register a week early. It's tough for the administration.
Alot of paperwork has to be done. Granted this was before everything was electronic
Registering for class was tough too, it could of just been the times cuz everything had to be done in person back then
At what point can we hold ourselves to a slightly higher standard and do better?
I could've had a free ride at two PWI's and I choose an HBCU. I'm still glad I did.I may be talking out of my ass, because I'm only going on what I see. But it appears to me the that black people choose HBCU's due to history, the culture and race loyalty.
I tend to agree with you if you are going to be apart of the system, you might as take your best crack at it and go to the best/most notable school you can.
I'd rather you be a black person who goes to a white school, knows your in the lion den,but finesse those connections for what you can.
Having an aware black conscienceness and maintaining it the whole while there, and after you leave.
Than be somebody who goes to an HBCU,feels woke just because you went to an HBCU,but loses your conscience and is out for self the moment you leave the HBCU.
I don't know, maybe HBCU's do foster that more than other schools. Connections seem to be a positive, they can help you get ahead.
But I don't know if there is anything necessarily pro black about a black person helping you get your foot into a European establishment that you work at.
That would all depend on your definition of it,some would argue that it is. I would say it depends on the mentality and conscience of the people.
What do HBCU's do for the black conscience? What is the education at these schools as far as unity, nepotism, race loyalty? Are those things apart of the curriculum?
My nephew flew down to Howard today and he doesnt have his yet.Lol I start school next Monday and they still haven’t given me my housing assignment
not sure wat to do

This type of shyt that is goin on is unacceptable. I dont care what anybody says. They say we should choose HBCUs over PWIs, and I wont argue against that, but if you have to struggle to get housingThis is just sad.
Me and my sons mother want him to go to a HBCU but stuff like this makes me think twice.

Don’t remember this happening at A&T.
Send him to A&T![]()
