I don’t know what’s funnier, people saying soccer isn’t skilled when it’s literally played with your feet or those saying every player is Ronaldinho.

Antonee Robinson who plays for the US and Fulham might move to Italy this year and make 20ms and I don’t think he’s put an accurate cross into the box in his life, if he caught a pass in stride it would be his first and his link up play is atrocious. Yet, he’s fast and athletic as fukk and you can put him at Left back and tell him to just run nikkaz down all game.

Remember when England started Emile Heskey vs the USA in 2010 :mjlol:

Soccer is a great sport and I think a foundational sport where you can leap into other sports because the footwork and conditioning developed are top notch. But there are definitely positions on the field where you can be hidden if you aren’t skilled. Mainly striker, goal keeper and dbacks.

cant do that in soccer..the field is too big and too few scoring opportunities

They do it all the time.

Then more weaker players on the ball are less likely to receive the ball during a game. Especially in certain areas on the field. Or if they are too it will be in a low risk area.

premier league soccer players have the highest in game iq collectively
its a sport where you are as strong as your weakest link

Only 10% of players have good in game IQ. The rest is down to positioning and instructions from the coaches.

The average soccer player has the in game IQ of a Russell Westbrook or Colin Sexton. Without being positioned by coaches and being told when to make a move they would play on instinct.

Meanwhile during an NBA game you see the majority of point guards are actually thinking while they have ball. Players actually think about shot selection.

The game is definitely changing with keepers trying to be Maradona out the back, db’s who are really wingers, and forwards who are just an extra midfielder and I hate it. :camby: How many times do keepers give up bullshyt goals trying to dribble under pressure, who many left backs can’t defend and can only go forward, and how many teams try to play without a striker and can’t score goals

dunno but they are all trying to dribble now. even de gea.

england picks pickford because of his ball skills and spain have demoted de gea for years for similar reasons.

Dana White with the typical doesn’t like or watch soccer, so to him it’s “the least skilled”.

Personally it’s the only sport I watch and keep with nowadays. Nothing tops the 10am and 12pm Premier League matches on the weekends.

I box boy. :mjlol: You definitely ain't doing any type of martial arts coming in with this feminine energy.

You've proven my point. Brock Lesnar was many years removed from his college wrestling days, came into MMA and became champion in his 4th fight. Cyril Gane turned pro in 2018 and was fighting for a title three years later. There are numerous examples of guys picking up mma late and being among the best in the sport.

These guys are getting knocked out by Jake Paul left and right. Get your hurt, nerd ass outta here. :mjlol:

“I box” what does that even mean nikka lmfao, that’s how u know a mf don’t really box. bytch I am an amateur competitor 5-1 I ain’t worried about some flabby nerd who hits the pads every once n awhile n don’t spar atleast 3 to 5 days a week :russ:. I don’t even box n can tell ur boxing knowledge null just from that normie ass post.

Can’t even tell the difference between a MMA fight and a boxing match lmfao. Whole different worlds. Don’t even understand how MMA gets it’s talent and has the most diverse talent of any sport by far, it literally conglomerates all martial arts.

my nigga what are you even arguing

most of the game is bad crosses or dumps into the box until they finally get a fortunate bounce

I’m lying ?

^my bad occasionally the highly skilled defense will make some errant pass and turnover the ball for an easy goal

france and england play saturday with rashford and mbappe. none of these highly skilled players will do some 70 yard touch or bicycle kick or beat multiple defenders for a goal. we both know this. It’ll be a couple of lucky goals off a bounce from the team that has the advantage in time of possession.

That's because scoring off a "bounce" off a player as you call it is skillful. Anyone who's played soccer knows that because the field is larger than most of the other sports we're discussing, it's easier to miss because of a keeper, and also because you have significantly less control over your feet/legs than your hand.

Can't do 70-yard touch because that's offside, bicycle kick is skillful but a different set of skills. It's very situational.

Hmm....I appreciate Americans giving "soccer" a chance, more than the rest of the world gives a chance to their sports, but this was an incredibly terrible take. I've seen people take up Ŕugby, Basketball in high school and go pro, for football, you have to start early. There's so much in it that if you don't play the sport, you'd never know, so let's just leave it at that.
I prefer basketball to soccer but yeah the skill it takes to be an elite soccer player is not joke.
I guess it's true for all sports but having lived in Europe these guys are treated like rock stars

thank you. dudes talking like the games end up 14-10 and not 1-0. :dead:

That's because American football decided to give points just for being close instead of actually scoring goals.

Remove those field goals and that 14-10 NFL game is the same as a 2-1 soccer game.
