That halftime show just showed that hiphop as a genre is getting older and it should he showcased on a big stage. People would just call it boring if The Eagles or like Steely Dan was up there or some shyt. Hiphop is the dominant genre and it’s older now. They deserved this.

The SuperBowl was in L.A , wtf did yall nikkas expect ?

you have the unpopular opinion , clearly you see mfs 1000s miles away from Cali love the culture

just accept it .

I didn't expect shyt! Why, because the NFL would never allow artists I would like to see (non mainstream artists) to perform.

However, I didn't get excited when those artists performed nor was I upset. My attitude was indifferent.

I am sure you know that the L.A. hiphop scene isn't just gangster rap.

So, my unpopular opinion is what it is. I didn't diss Dr Dre, Snoop, 50 Cent, Kendrick, Mary J and Emenim. They were alright..

I was glad that the people I was around enjoyed the performance. Good for them!

Dr Dre and Snoop are the most significant rappers to come out of LA. You know this. It starts with Dre. You think they’ll choose a local unknown band to perform over The Rolling Stones? Dr Dre and snoop are music legends

Of course I know this...

I was around when they came out. I knew about Snoop way before he became popular. We grew up in the same city...

I wasn't excited to see them perform like most of their fans, but I wasn't upset either. I was indifferent.

I am glad that those who like them enjoyed the performance. But, that doesn't mean I have to feel the same way. As long as I wasn't dissing, then I am good...

Didn't want anyone in particular to be honest...

I really didn't give a shyt..

My focus was on the game and my squares(betting). Never was big on the halftime show.

But, let's just say that I am no fan of mainstream rap. Never have and never will!!

Like I told you, I didn't diss. For what? They were better than any rock artist or Country artist.

I just wasn't over excited and to keep it official, I never was a fan of 50 Cent nor Kendrick Lamar. No disrespect to those dudes.

Besides, football season is over! I am getting ready for baseball season and March Madness.

ATL, but rasied in DMV
What caught me was they were doing some of the dances we did right before rap and hip-hop took the scene. There was this one dance they were doing that we use to call the old man, where you would lean a little forward to the right, then lean a little forward to the left, then do it twice to the left, then twice to the right. Some of the girls would lean almost as low as an upside-down L. This dance came out in late 79, and lasted thru most of the early 80's, the same time go go started in DC. A lot of my family and friends told me I was the one that brought the old man out, when I use to party on the University of Maryland campus, when I was crazy. I would have a 40 ounce in one hand (we called it a bumper back then) while leaning to the left, then leaning to the right with rhythm. The next think we knew, the whole DMV was doing it.

I also noticed they were partially doing fraternity steps. I guess the frat brothers still call it stepping or pledging. Never in my day did I'd think I would see us doing the old man, or stepping, at a Super Bowl half-time, especially the old man...that really took me back. The message I got was, we're about to get back what's ours, and it's going to be way bigger than a Superbowl. I don't know exactly when that time will be, but it's definitely getting closer, and White peoples felt it, even though there's nothing they can really really do about it.
