What do u mean by support...im sure they got homies that support em.

I heard Chicago nikkas say that.

New York nikkas say that.

Baton Royge/New Orleans nikkas
What I mean by support is the city gets behind their local acts. Not just their homies. Just to be clear tho I never said this city has the most haters per square mile. I said you wont find a city with more. There's a difference. Im not doubting these cities you listed are similar

DC
For as many black people that are in DC and Maryland, that they have very few rap artists is surprising

theres a ton of rappers here, its just that there's not as many that seem to pop externally. damn near everyone raps and theres plenty of local studios working with artists

lots of talent bubblin, but the scene is weird. seems to be getting better though, but politics and crab in a barrel mentality are still here

im surprised lightshow hasnt really gotten his buzz past DC yet, but hes def getting there

I also don't understand how D.C rap didn't pop off, there's hella variables at play.

- crack
- it's the seat of government for the nation
- so many Black colleges
- it's still in a way kinda Southern
- they kinda had a front row seat for the New Jack Swing wave

...iono.

And i'll add Little Rock, and the Twin Cities.

Go Go

No they don't:heh:

Other cities support their local talent. This city doesn't even do that
Nah dude is right, everybody feels that way about their city.

Here in Houston nikkas shyt on the local talent until they somehow blow and make themselves undeniable.

Houston the 3rd most populated Metro Area in the USA and has only produced 3 relevant artist in the past 5 years. Travis Scott, Sauce Walka, and Maxo Kream.

The city would hate on Travis with "He's not from Houston, he's from MO City, he's weird." it wasn't til he left the city and became an undeniable star that people finally started to give him some props.

They probably would have hated on Sauce Walka from the jump without the Rap-A-lot/Drake cosign, but once that fell through everybody started hating on dude.

Maxo puts up big numbers on youtube/streaming/touring, but nikkas still be acting shocked in the city like "Damn people are really fans of Maxo?" on some dry hating shyt.

Our closest thing to a new young star, was Trill Sammy and it was his own city that hated on him the hardest and tried everything in their power to destroy him.

People often think about the Rap-A-lot/Swishahouse waves as proof that Houston supports its artist, but nah. That was J. Prince laying down law and forcing Houston radio to play mostly Houston artist at one point. You had to shove Houston rap down Houstonians' throat to make them like and respect it.

I always joke South Carolina produced 2 of my favorite rappers, Young Jeezy and Young Scooter, even though they don't claim it.

South Carolina the low-key Nazareth of Trap Music lmao.
