I don't think I've ever seen someone misjudge an artist worse than Budden did Drake.
He's talking like Drake was supposed to be the new....I don't even know who. A hell of a lot more than what he obviously is. I guess more in the vein of Jay, Nas, Pac, etc. Why he thought that, based on Drake's content and discography....who the fukk knows?
Budden sounds like he just found out Santa Claus ain't real. It's a year after the QM shyt and Budden is talking about Drake was supposed to move the culture forward and be a hip-hop icon with "Views", like he's Rakim or some shyt.

Joe has been on record plenty of times admitting hes a huge Drake stan
I haven't gotten finished with this podcast (Rant) but mainly what Im hearing is
Joe wants Drake to reach heights in his career that he (Joe) wish that he

I get all that but the QM shyt a year ago should've deaded all that. Then "Hotline Bling". Then "Views"? I could understand maybe thinking Drake was gonna be some kinda super MC around the time of "So Far Gone"....but at this point it should be obvious what lane he's in.

Drake because of that.
This song came out in 2007, years before Drake was considered

and it automatically becomes a top 10 billboard hit.
