Update on Owens from the Meltz and some of my thoughts too...

NXT touring is gonna be great once it gets some good traction going, everyone keeps thinking the NXT big names popping up on Raw is a good thing but its not.

Eh...I'm not even a big Owens fan but when I see the 4 of them, I see Owens as being the guy who would "really win". Same if Samoa Joe was out there. Now I get it, it doesn't matter who would really win, but it is also why the WWE has always been, and likely will always be "cartoony". You could book it in a way that sells that as a strength and makes the others look goofy.

Its like the difference between watching The Flash and Arrow. They are both comic book based but Arrow is grittier and technically the crew has no "super powers" and some of the other powers are explained in some fashion rather than just being super powers. Many times to me WWE is booked top much over time like Hogan, Cena, Taker, Rock almost have wrestling super powers or something.

But I get a lot of people like the big circus stage thing rather than a little more realism or whatever you want to call it. Vince knows the reality style is the minority business wise.

Owens is a fukking star. Dude hit one pop-up powerbomb on Cena on his first night on Raw and had me hooked. Put on 5-star performances against Cena in every match so far. And then they have him tap out in the decider? Pathetic IMO. Not even taking away from Cena's performances in those matches, but it's clear how good Owens is not just in his moves but his overall performance pertaining to the crowd (trolling Cena, the psychology etc).

Same with Rollins - as much as he's the champ, I feel he's somewhat being sabotaged. He's a legit star himself, but since he's held the title he's been booked incredibly poorly - can't do anything without the authority, runs from every fight, hasn't even had a great match in a while because he barely has matches anymore. Worst yet, they've taken away his finisher and replaced it with a shoddy looking Pedigree and he doesn't even do half the moves he did as a face in The Shield. Best match he had was the one with Ambrose - and he won by luck (kayfabe).

I legit feel disappointed at how this turned out.. Like with the rubber matches with Rusev/Wyatt, it was pretty obvious Cena was gonna go over, but with Owens, the performances he put on, and how well he carried himself during the feud, it just felt like he might be the one to finally get that best of 3 match win Vs Cena, but no, it's business as usual.

Idk why this is bothering me much more than previous feuds..

Think about it, Owens is being demoted but he's already in the mid card (and if worse comes to worse, he'll always have NXT). To me its kind of silly logic by Meltzer because you mean to tell me that demoted all these guys is to have them schmaze in with Taker and Lesnar (a big angle) meanwhile "priority" talent like Dean cant even get on a PPV, Orton has no storyline, Roman is purposely not being pushed so he can gain sympathy etc etc

No one is at anywhere.


Like Sheamus was out there too and he has the Money in the Bank so he'll at least get a transnational run and has always been treated as a priority. so what's the logic. Big Show and Miz werent there, you mean to tell me they are a priority protected talent?
