Considering all the competition and Will Smith really not being in it like normal, I think it did pretty good. The only mistake they made was moving it up a week. They should of kept the release date June 7th as planned cause it's rolling out in over 50 countries next week. Then it would of been a huge Worldwide opening weekend to get headlines. Trust me, people are going to be surprised by the huge worldwide numbers next week. This isn't over yet. But decent domestic opening. Fast 6 and hangover 3 were in their 2nd week and "Now you see me" was also opening, Trek and Iron Man are both still doing pretty good. Also people spent a lot of money on Memorial Day weekend at the movies. So there was just way to much competition.
Which is why Sony was projecting 40 million, and it failed to even reach that. Flop. Worldwide box office should dig it out of the hole though.

Well it def wasn't a good weekend to open this movie but it flopped regardless. This movie should've never been 3 rd behind now u see me of all movies. And regardless of how well it does over seas its still a bomb. The studio projected close to 40 because they had a feeling it would underperform but it didn't even reach their low projections. And most r saying its pretty decent but it wasn't in the cards for a successful flick, sorry will.

Will took these low numbers for his Son. Far from an L, it's something a real father would do. Had this been Will Smith in the Jungle trying to survive it would of done 60 Million OW. Jaden is still growing as an actor and isn't a draw just yet at the Box Office. People saw Will in the posters but word got out early that it was his Son's movie not his. Had Will been Jaden's character it would of blew the box office apart this weekend. Like I said, give Jaden 10 more years, he will probably end up a movie star.
