IMO, everyone 27 and older should just retire from the USMNT right now.

The next USMNT manager should just not call any of them up. Force them into retirement.

Bedoya
Susi
Bradley
F. Johnson
Cameron
Diskeruud

Players like Dempsey, Howard, etc are at retirement age. They will probably get a last ceremonial call-up when they officially announce their retirement.

Breh, changing the landscape of youth development takes decades.

None of this is being fixed anytime soon.

Honestly, the UMSNT have been overachievers imo. This team shouldn't even get a whiff at the round of 16 until atleast another 50 years.

2002, 2010, and '14 were miracles.

How can you have three miracles?

USA have to go with the pyramid scheme, they have no choice. Eliminate franchises and introduce relegations.
American sports model DOES NOT WORK FOR SOCCER/FOOTBALL.

How is that going to help?

Kobe snitched on Shaq
Lebrons waaaay tooo tall for soccer. Itd be Dalvin Cook or Darren Sproles or Steph Curry type guys.

African Americans are too under represented in soccer.

Still i dont understand why American cacs, African immigrants and hispanics cant produce a decent squad

We gotta hold their hand in every fukking sport. :hhh:

Outplayed Portugal and Mexico im 02. Outplayed Germany in 02 as well and got cheated.

Got lucky against England in 10 but outplayed them overall in the group and won it

Outplayed Ghana and Portugal in 14 (shouldve beat Portugal if not for a Ronaldo miracle) and lost 1-0 to world champiom Germany. Got outplayed massively by Belgium but still missed a sitter right in front of goal that wouldve put us through

None of those results were luck and were down to team work and toughness this squad didnt have

Miracle's the wrong term I used. Three FLUKES.

if preteen and teenage lebron honed his craft at soccer instead of basketball he wouldnt be a great player?

what assessment about Lebron makes him a more adequete soccer prospect than any other athlete? Or some super special potentiality if he hadn't gone with basektball?:mjlol:

His athleticity? Football isn't about pure athleticity.

Is it your opinion or the guy you stole it from on reddit?

You crosspost-watching breh? :russ:

Yeah I stole it but I agreed with it. :mjlol:

2002 was a once in a lifetime achievement. Nothing like that is happening anytime soon. :yeshrug:

'10 had the FAMOUS Algeria match breh. That was literally scraping by.:mjlol:

And last cup, again we were lucky to make it out the group. Every match besides Ghana felt like a fight against death. No we should not have "beat Portugal".Because guess what, we didn't. :mjlol: The U.S. weren't supposed to make it out the group. They exceeded expectations.

American grit is the only thing that pulls this team through anything. You have to rely on putting power in your faith and not what's actually on the field when it comes to this team.

Athleticism is not the issue here. Football IQ and technique is. Spain were possibly the most unathletic (aside from perhaps stamina) national team I have ever witnessed dominate but they completely and utterly dominated Football from 2008-2013, crushed everybody, no one could figure it out.

So if people are calling for more black players I hope it's to instill in them and in fact, place a higher standard on technique and football IQ than athleticism. And the sum of their argument isn't "black people are more athletic"

Because athleticism is not the issue here. You don't win a World Cup or become a Football juggernaut by putting most of your stats on Athletics at the Character Creation Screen.

I know this because every time I played with a black player who was fast he was put on the wing and told to cross the ball, the problem was he didn't know how to cross, he didn't have the technique. Moreover, he often times couldn't dribble he just used pace and sheer speed to get pass the defender and was clueless after that. Best black players were the AM's and CM's, the East Africans with amazing technique who could dribble circles around you and send precision like throughballs.

This assumption hurts, not helps black kids chances to succeed in the sport.

-Martial
-Mbappe
-Dembele
-Sane
These are all athletic black players, but they are tempered by godlike technique.

Another problem is these dumbass coaches, I swear to almighty god, I know Football better than they do.

Another 50 years...that is harsh breh:mjcry: You’re right though. This isn’t going to be an overnight process. At the very least, for me, I want to see at least some good progress come next Qualification for World Cup.
