Because as much as some people want to admit, there is an invested interest in The US soccer team. Them not making the World Cup, let alone the last two Olympic Games, is a huge deal which leaves you wondering how can the US team simply get better.
Is there really an invested interest or do people don't want America to be left out? :ld:

The US will never win that big fukking trophy in soccer... NEVER....:mjlol:

I think it can be done. Of course, no one here is saying it’ll be overnight. We just have to make slow and steady progress that can further the development of US soccer.

IDK we should take responsibility for the quality of our FAs. Anyway Nigeria will do well in 2018.
Most African FAs suck something terrible. We will see. I don't have the faith in this squad like that. It's not a great team. We do have creative players and a good keeper so you never know

I think there is an invested interest in my opinion. Especially now that they’ve failed to qualify. All eyes will be on this team going forward and how adjustments will be made.

This isn’t true about Ghana, they’ve recently failed because their FA has been a circus. Prior to that they’ve impressed at the World Cup. Muntari, Asamoah, Essien, Appiah all had better technique than almost every American midfielder. As far as tactics go, that’s tied to a bad FA with no continuity at manager, these are all players who play in Europe.
I used Ghana as an example (maybe it was a bad example), but my point was athleticism alone doesn’t win in soccer. Ghana is a super athletic squad, but they underachieve on the world stage because of what you said which trickles down to the product on the field, which can get very sloppy in terms of team strategy.

:dead: I’m being a pure optimism on this but I think the future will be bright for this team.
The US had three golden generations.

Donovan, Dempsey, Reyna and Eddie Johnson- Landon had lukewarm success in Europe and did play for Bayern Munich. Dempsey had one of the best European careers for an American. Reyna was a good Euro based player, Eddie flopped in Europe but played for some big clubs.

Adu, Zizzo, Bradley, Jozy and Omar Gonzalez- The most successful youth team while being horrendous as men. Adu, complete flop. Zizzo, injuries killed him. Went to mid table Bundesliga and flopped. Bradley had the best career in Europe but flopped for big clubs. Jozy with the exception of two clubs, was a total flop. Gonzalez mainly played in the MLS.

Pulisic, McKinnie, Wright, Hyndman, Tim Weah, Carleton, and Klinsmann. Too young but they got a lot of potential. Pulisic got world class potential and the sky is the limit for McKinnie. Both players looking to become international superstars. A lot of talent in this group.

Most of Ghana issues is based on timely execution. They go to the final 8. It's not like they are a bad international team. The class of Africa in the last 10 years.
