tbh I'm not a soccer expert, just started watching european leagues and shyt 5-6 years ago. I didn't grow up a soccer fan

but there's just certain things about American fans i notice thats trash. Over the years a lot of articles I'd read about the USMNT or Jurgen specifically, the comments would always be on some "fukk Klinnsman" shyt because he was "against America" and was trying to ruin the team. i mean, you got Americans who think the best MLS teams are on the same level as bottom teams in the EPL or even top teams in The Championship. Americans who claim to be soccer fans see nothing wrong with some of our best players playing in the MLS. I read before that Jurgen laid the groundwork in the 2000s for the German team that won in 2014. It seems like he was trying to lay that groundwork here but just had so much pushback.

as long as this dude stay in office, I see no change in the system or the latest results:francis:

Exactly. How the fukk can this even be acceptable? Like straight up "fukk the inner cities" "fukk having any prominent latinos or blacks" and thats just okay? This guy compared it to fukking piano lessons and we wonder why we suck :deadrose:

the groundwork for Germany was the failure of Euro 2000. Germany overhauled their system after that centralized and everything. The country also changed citizenship and immigration laws at the during this period as well. France did

Klinsman had them playing good football in 2006, but the Ozil/Khedira/Gundogen generation of players came after Klinsmann.

Before everyone started going crazy over Germany, France was seen as the spot because of Clairfontaine producing Henry, Anelka, Trezegeut, and recently Mbappe.

Before that it was the Ajax model.

Klinsmann did try and implement changes in the US. He finally made it mandatory for US youth coaches to get some licensing, but its not hard to get like it is in other countries.

Its just very hard in this country because our sports culture is different.

Grant Wahl's idea of getting an outside commission to come in and take a look at the development landscape over a couple of years and offering recommendations may be a good solution. We cant do the Ajax system, Clairfontaine (The US do this now with Brandenton, Florida but it clearly is not working as players come in way too late), or mimicking the Germans is not gonna be the wave because our culture is different, geography is different, and population is different but I know there is an American solution that is better than this current mess.

The best athletes in this country don't care about soccer
I used to think this, but the truth is the best soccer players aren't on u.s. soccer's radar because they can't afford to pay for expensive camps or afford to get into the best prep schools. As long as soccer is played by talentless cac's, u.s. will continue to suck.
