Once again, it is not that serious then why are we expected to do it every time? If it's not that serious then why don't you do it? Evidently it is if women have such a hard time contributing.
It is that serious because especially in large cities even doing stuff like museums add up. You have cabs, entry fees, snacks. If you're hanging out a few days a week it will surpass the amount of money that will have future impact. And all for what? The slight chance that said woman will be there when that financial security would have come to fruition?
Women kill me trying to dictate when something they're not contributing is "serious" or not. Men invest too much into women these days and they put nothing on the line. Men are starting to smarten up though, which is why you have Netflix and Chill

When I said it wasn't serious, I meant dinner isn't the only thing you can do on a date.
You also shouldn't be investing time with anytime you don't even see yourself with or who you resent because you feel you have to pay to spend time with them. Like BMore said, getting to know someone over the phone is free. You can get a feel for whether or not she is someone who will use you for free food or if she is really interested.
