The NBA of today is less "soft" as it is corporatized. The NBA base of fans and corporate donors who financially support the league are overwhelmingly white, and the NBA has catered to their tastes by siphoning out the aggression (response to malice in palace) in a product that is black dominant in order to pacify their racial attitudes.

In order to gain entry to the league, black players have to cede to these demands. GP would gain a hell of a lot more traction with me if he kept it real, rather than trying to float this idea that the league has gone "soft", because of some sort of spike in black male effeminacy or something.
