Do you even know how contracts work?
You are paid upon what you have DONE and what it looks like you will continue on at. Once again:
The facts are, Kobe already had a 3 year contract for 83.5 million from 2012-2014...and then he signed a 2 year extension for 48.5 million in November 2013 for the 2015 & 2016 season.
In order to earn that, Kobe over his LAST deal (2012 & 2013 seasons because he was injured all but 6 games in the 2014 season and didnt play again until AFTER he signed the new contract) averaged 27.6 pts, 5.5 rebs, 5.4 assts, 1.3 stls, and shot 44.8% FG in 38.6 minutes per game going to 2 NBA All-Star Games, being 2x All-NBA 1st Team, 1x All-Defensive 2nd Team, and finished 4th in 2012 and 5th in 2013 in MVP voting
Kobe was ALSO eligible to make $32 million per year, but instead DIDNT demand or request the full amount he could've taken of 2 years $64 million...giving back 8 million per or $16 million over 2 years
Tell a player who finished 4th and 5th in MVP voting the 2 seasons before signing a contract extension, that giving up 8 million a year wasnt enough and he should be making only 10-12 million a year brehs
